Last Sunday, we went to the zoo to see some wild animals. When we arrived in the early morning, we found the gate     1    (closing, closed). So we had to wait outside. As soon as we saw the gate     2    (opened, opening), we went in immediately. How excited we were to see some animals     3    (playing, played)with each other in the zoo!

There was a huge metal cage in the centre of the zoo. As we drew near, we could see a small monkey     4    (attacked, being attacked)by a group of older monkeys. While I was watching, I heard my name     5    (called, calling)from behind. I noticed a boy     6    (named, naming)David     7    (run, running)towards me.

He told me that he had met a foreigner and the foreigner didn’t speak Chinese. So he wasn’t able to make himself     8    (understanding, understood)though he tried to make some gestures. When I learned that the foreigner wanted to have a picture     9    (taking, taken)by the side of a beautiful peafowl(孔雀), I went and helped take a picture for him at once.

Have you ever been to an amusement park? My parents and I     1     (go) to visit the biggest amusement park in our city next weekend. Actually, this     2     (be) the third time that I have visited it. Last night, I     3     (spend) two hours making some preparations. Now, I     4     (tell) something I know about amusement parks to you.

An amusement park     5     (be) an outdoor area with games, rides and shows. It also     6     (offer) restaurants and bars where customers can eat and drink. So far, most of the amusement parks     7     (replace) by theme parks. These places     8     (focus) on a certain topic of history or natural life. The first theme park, Disneyland,     9     (open) in California in 1955. It is likely that my parents     10     (take) me to the Shanghai Disneyland next summer holiday. I look forward to visiting it soon.
