I like reading because books are good teachers and helpful friend. When I am a child , I got into the habit of read. In the past years , I have read many the books. Reading helps me relaxed and see the world different ways. It also develop my interest and enriches my knowledge. There are much books that we can read , and different people have our own favourite ones. I like to read books on music, for it is an important part of life. It is universally known that World Reading Day falls on April 23rd, which reminded us of the importance of reading. We are supposed to reading more on that special day. But the situation for we to read nowadays is not satisfied.
For example, when we are at home, we would rather to watch TV or surf the Internet than read books. As a result, we spend such little time on books. However, reading books has many strength. Not only can our abilities and skills be improved, and we can also get some information from reading. Besides, reading books brings us happiness.
I think it good habit that in our spare time we read more books on great use.
3 . Tips to create great readers
Great readers are made; they are not born. After all, children don’t enter the world knowing how to understand a text or make inferences.
Build great reading and writing skills hand in hand. Just like adults, students use writing to gather their thoughts about a text and communicate their ideas to others.

Start with your interest.

By one year, your child is learning to listen and talk about the pages, often shouting out things she/he recognizes. Encourage this! You need to set your reading time for a time in the day when your child is preparing to settle down. This means bedtime. The process of learning to read is complex, and one of the most important things to know is that parents can help their children learn to read. As children have conversations with adults, they hear both new and familiar words and their vocabulary grows.
There are many opportunities for adults and children to talk together, such as when riding in the car or in a bus, doing housework like fixing dinner, or bathing and getting ready for bed. A major part of conversation is listening. When children talk, adults listen and respond. Then children listen and respond, and so the flow of conversation happens.
Have you watched you pre-school child pretend to read to his younger sisters or brothers? Have you read his favorite story over and over? These experiences tell children that reading is fun. And when things are fun and they are repeated, your child will see letters. He begins to connect them to familiar words, especially the letters that make up his name. A natural next step for him to take is to write the letters.
When children see parents make a grocery list, they want to use a pencil and paper to make their own list. To encourage these beginning writing activities, have pencils, markers, crayons and scrap paper within your children’s reach.
The more children get connected with talking, listening, reading and writing, the easier it is for them to become active readers.
