文章大意:本文是新闻报道。美国创作歌手Lauv利用人工智能语音技术制作的歌曲《Love U Like That》的韩国版正式发行。制作音乐加入人工智能引起了轰动。

A. concern              B. beneficial              C. original              D. striking       E. deliver

AMERICAN SINGER-SONGWRITER Lauv has released a new Korean version of his single “Love U Like That,” created with the help of AI voice technology. He enlisted the help of the Korean singer Kevin Woo, who aided with the translation of the song and recorded vocals.

Kevin’s voice singing the translation was recorded first. It was then arranged to match the sound     1    . AI voice technology was then used to match Lauv’s voice, and Kevin’s Korean version was     2     into Lauv’s voice.

“To help them build the model of my voice, I sent over a bunch of raw vocals that were just me singing in different registers (声区),” Lauv said. “It was very interesting to hear my voice like that. I gave a couple of notes-very minor things-after hearing the     3     version. And then they went back and made some modifications (修改).”

Lauv is the first major Western artist to jump on the AI translation bandwagon (加入潮流). He wants the new translated version of “Love U Like That” to be a way of showing his love to his Korean fan base. Although large numbers of fans around the world listen to English music musicians have noticed that some international audiences are increasingly turning their interest back to music in their local language - a trend they have nicknamed “Glocalization.” As a result, some AI voice synthesis (合成) companies are working to     4     translation. English-speaking artists can now join this growing movement and establish closer     5     with international fans.

It is an important moment for the music business. A series of deepfake (深度伪造) songs that mimic the vocals of real stars have caused a stir. The most     6     example is the one claimed to be sung by two major artists, Drake and The Weekend. At the same time, it is also becoming very clear that not all uses of AI in music are a cause for     7    . An artist’s “voiceprint” can also be used in a/an     8     way. Earlier this month, we saw The Beatles release their final song “Now and Then” (an instant No.1 chart hit, unsurprisingly), an AI-assisted salvage (抢救) of the voice from a 40-year-old cassette recording. AI tech can indeed enhance musicians’ work and     9     a positive contribution to the future of music.

In an interview, Lauv also touched on his openness about the use of AI in music. “I truly believe that the only way forward is to embrace what is possible now, no matter what. I think being able to embrace a tool like this is     10    . And being able to get artists paid is great,” he said.

Music has been playing a major role in the lives of teenagers for decades and today’s teens are no    1    . Teens listen to over 2.5 hours of music per day. Earbuds, MP3 players, and smartphones make it easy for teens to listen to music while they go about much of their daily lives.

The digital world also means that parents must face new challenges when it comes to a teen’s music. In the past-when music was    2     through audio tape or CDs, it was much easier for parents to be aware of a teen’s musical    3    . But now that teens get free songs and music videos through the Internet, parents are less likely to be    4     of what their teens are listening to.

Today, it’s hard to believe that today’s over-50-year-old people used to be    5     against Elvis Presley’s dance moves. Fast-forward to the present day and society has certainly become more    6     of many strange forms of art.

As for parents, music is a powerful tool and certainly music with pro-social or warm lyrics(歌词)can have a(n)     7     influence on teens. It’s important to be supportive when    8     your teen’s musical interests. Get your teen to talk to you. Ask questions without passing    9    . Always be curious and ask about what your teen looks for in music and talk about what    10     can be found in certain songs.

RED Re-Released: Now We Begin Again

TAYLOR SWIFT can’t stop breaking the internet.

On November 12, the Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter released Red   (Taylor’s Version), a rerecording of her honored 2012 album Red, as part of her ongoing     1     to regain ownership of her early music.

While the original album included 16 tracks, Red (Taylor’s Version) offers an epic 30 tracks, including nine     2     unreleased songs.

After dropping the new album, Swift also released her directorial debut (首演) in the form of a short film All Too Well, named after the fifth track on the record and     3     herself, actor Dylan O’Brien and Stranger Things star Sadie Sink. By the time this article was finished, it had acquired more than 22.5 million views on YouTube.

Swift made history with the release of Red (Taylor’s Version) on November 12, breaking the record for the most-streamed album in a day by a female artist and the most-streamed female in a day on Spotify.

Among music critics, the    4     was also largely positive. Awarding the album five stars, Rolling Stone’s Rob Sheffield described the project as “a tribute (致敬) to how far she’s traveled, but it makes you even more excited for where she’s heading next.”

Writing     5     about the long-lost 10-minute version of “All Too Well,” the music critic said Swift “takes her own masterpiece, tears it all up, breaks it like a promise, and rebuilds it into a new heartbreak epic, twice as long and twice as mad.”

In a four-star review, multimedia producer Hannah Mylrea says 31-year-old Swift’s     6     vocals (歌唱部分) are the most significant change.

“You hear it clearest on the spoken-word moments, like the withering put-down (令人羞愧的吐槽) in ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’ : ‘With some indie (独立制作) record that’s much cooler than mine,’ ” she writes, before adding that “It’s the sort of eye-roll moment     7     of being a young adult, and while delivered with passion in its creation, in these moments the     8     in Swift’s lyricism (抒情方式) and vocals in the 10 years since Red was first released are obvious.”

Taylor has been open about why she’s gone to such     9     to re-record her music and why these new releases mean so much to her. “Artists should own their own work for so many reasons, but the most screamingly obvious one is that the artist is the only one who really knows that body of work,” she wrote in a social media post earlier this year.

Following the release, Swift thanked fans for inspiring her to recover possession of her art, telling her 89 million Twitter followers: “It never would have been possible to go back and remake my previous work,     10     lost art and forgotten jewels along the way if you hadn’t encouraged me. Red is about to be mine again, but it has always been ours. Now we begin again.”
