5 . Known for its complicated, seemingly wavelike sandstone walls and the rays of sunlight that shine into them, Arizona's Antelope Canyon(羚羊峡谷)is an everlasting attraction for tourists. It's a slot canyon, meaning it formed from water carving it out over millions of years. It sits about 3, 700 feet above sea level and takes its name from the antelope that once lived in it.
The canyon forms part of Lake Powell Navajo Tribal Park in the Navajo Nation. The Navajo Nation limits visits to either the Upper or Lower Antelope Canyon to two hours and requires all visitors to be led by authorized guides. If you're planning a trip and need help deciding which area to visit, keep these recommendations in mind.
•When: Tours are available twice a day during the week year-round, though exact times vary by season;tours are not available on weekends or major holidays.
•Cost: Tour companies 5 fees vary, but tickets, including entrance to the park, generally start at around $ 60 for 90-minute tours of Upper Antelope Canyon. Tours of Lower Antelope Canyon tend to be around an hour and generally cost around $ 40 per adult and $ 20 for children.
• Must-know tip: Most of Arizona does not follow daylight saving time, though the Navajo Nation, where Antelope Canyon is located, does. Check with your tour operator to confirm the precise time of your tour.
Antelope Canyon hosts tons of visitors and, in order to protect the canyon walls from damage, no bags of any kind are permitted in either the Upper or Lower section. Also keep in mind that while most tour companies welcome small children, not all of them will.

Last summer holiday, I went to visit my cousin in Dalian by bus. The journey was not so comfortably as a journey by train. After getting on the bus, I choose a seat near the window so that I could look out or enjoy the scenes from the running bus. The trees, houses and lakes on both side of the road was beautiful. The old man was sitting near me. She told me about the various places in which I should visit. I enjoyed talk with him. After seven hours I arrived at Dalian bus station and my cousin was already there waiting me.

I was selected to go on a study tour to Britain. On morning of March 27, we arrived at the airport where we were warm welcomed by our home-stay families. Soon we went to Westminster College to attend in a presentation about the school. A professor gave them a vivid but interesting introduction and we learned a lot about the college. In the followed days we visited some famous scenic spots such as Big Ben and London Eye. We took photo there. On the last day we had a farewell party when students from China and Britain put on fantastic performances including songs and dances.
From the study tour, not only had we improved our speaking skills but also we've got a much good understanding of the British culture.
8 . The important things to consider when planning a multi-generational holiday trip
Take the whole family to a beach or a mountain, forming holiday memories that will last a lifetime. Whether those memories are pleasant or not will depend on a lot of things, but the one you can control most is how well you plan the trip. Multi-generational travel is different from planning for just yourself or your family.
Perhaps your family is happy to have one person take control. But you may have newer family members who consider vacation planning a more collective experience. If that’s the case, you need to make sure they feel like they had some input in the process, or you won’t get much participation.
Holiday resorts are likely a better choice than a big house or hotels, both because they offer separate condos (公寓式旅馆) where people can operate on their own schedules and because they offer activities, meals, and other entertainment (消遣) you won’t have to plan. Condos also often come with kitchens, if you do feel like having dinner at home a couple of times.
So finding a resort with activities that fit as many people’s interests as possible is key.
A.You may be a big diver. |
B.Childcare on vacation is a big one. |
C.The point of this whole thing is to have fun. |
D.Making food for that many people is difficult. |
E.And multi-bedroom setups allow for the less cost. |
F.You’ve got all sorts of things to consider for a large group of people. |
G.So making sure everyone’s planning styles are respected is an important early step. |
About 43 years ago, I spotted an advertisement in the paper for the YMCA wildness program. I was 15 and wanted to do something different. My first experience was a boat trip. I still have the images of sunrises and sunsets with all beautiful colors on Lake of the Woods.
As a teenager, I didn’t know that I was having the best adventure a teenager could have. Even now I can feel the cold water dripping down my arm as we sat in the boat pulling the paddles awkardly through running water. It was my first experience in a boat and my arms became tired after many hours of paddling.
We stopped for lunch in the boat by assembling all the boats together. Our guide handed out chocolate, cheese and dried meat.
At night, it was time to camp at our site picked out by our guide. There we learned to start campfires and cook some of our meals. This is where I felt in love with noodles. It was wonderful to share simple meals over the fire and talk with new friends. We cleaned up our mess and put up our tents and slept on the ground. We learned to carry the heavy packs to our next destination. I developed a sense of accomplishment and had arm muscles after that trip.
There were no phones , makeup, hair dryers...just us and the bush. We came from different backgrounds with different personalities and we all had to work together as a group.
I liked the boat trip so much that I joined the “Survival” trip the next year. I kept a journal from that second trip and often go back to it.
