1 . In July, my friend and I took a camping trip. We travelled for four weeks and visited the United States and part of Canada. We decided to camp because it took less money than living in hotels.
We planned very carefully. First, the car we were going to drive was very small, so we decided to take only one small bag each and as few camping things as possible. We took some medicine with us, to prevent (预防) insects and also food for picnics. Second, there was a lot to see in the United States and Canada, so we had to decide on the direction we wanted to drive on a big map.
All of this planning took a long time. The date we started was July 2.We saw and did many things on our camping tour. We climbed in the mountains, visited famous caves, and swam in cool mountain rivers. We visited many cities and talked to many people. We went to a hotel room when it rained at night. We had an exciting trip.

Day 1: Arrive in Delhi
You will be met on arrival and sent to the 5-star Roseate Hotel. You can spend the day in its rooftop pool overlooking Delhi or explore the city, which may be one of the world’ s largest cities, but building wonders — new and old — fill the city. Mughal treasures, including the Red Fort and Jama Masjid, are added by more recent additions (添加物) to Delhi’ s traditional buildings, such as the Lotus and Akshardham Temples.
Day 2: Journey to Tadoba
Take the early morning flight to Nagpur. On arrival into Nagpur, you will be met by our local guide, who will take you to Tadoba National Park. Part of the park contains Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve (保护区), one of India’s most exciting and best-protected tiger reserves.
For the next 4 nights, you will be staying at Bamboo Forest Safari Lodge. Later this evening there will be a welcome dinner.
Days 3-5 : Safari Drives
The next three clays will follow a similar schedule, as you head into Tadoba National Park searching for India’s tigers as well as the park’ s many other wildlife species and birdlife.
The day starts early, usually before sunrise, as this is when the wildlife is at its most active. Mornings begin with tea in bed. Breakfast will normally be taken in the park.
Day 6 : Departure
Go to Nagpur airport for your flight back to Delhi and your journey home. We can make extra days sightseeing with a private guide covering the Golden Triangle of Delhi, Jaipur and Agra, including the Amber Fort and The Taj Mahal. Please ask for more details.

3 . A crew (全体船员) of six teenage girls completed a nine-day sailing trip in the US recently, after braving seasickness and strong winds.
For the past three years，the Sea Cadet teenagers who set sail were all male.Roger Noakes, who captained the boat, said this was the first time he’d taken out an all-female crew.
The girls asked for an all-girls trip in August this year. The crew set sail along with three adults, Noakes and two Sea Cadet representatives.The original plan was for the girls to sail 24 hours a day in rotating shifts (轮流换班) along the coast and then return.Things turned out differently, however. “The first night was rough because the wind was really hard.The waves were going up and down.” said Abby Fairchild, 16. “Everybody got seasick.” Noakes gave the girls the option (选择) of just sailing in the bay and not going into open water. “But they decided they were going.”
The teenagers then sailed a long way overnight and slept in shifts.“We’ve learned everything from steering (掌舵) the boat itself to putting up the sails to cooking while we have rough seas.” said 15-year-old Olivia Wilcox.
The teenagers stopped on land in Massachusetts.They didn’t make it to their original destination (目的地) in Maine where they were supposed to have a celebratory dinner, due to the weather and winds.They said they weren’t disappointed, however, as they’d learned a lot. “They learned about boating, and above all, they built confidence and character.”said Noakes.

4 . A Portland, Oregon man has become the first person to travel across Antarctica by himself without receiving any assistance.
Colin O’Brady has completed the 1,500-kilometer trip. He crossed the continent in 54 days. Friends, family and other people followed his progress through messages and pictures he left on social media.
O’Brady spoke with his wife Jenna Besaw by telephone soon after he completed the journey. “It was an emotional call,” she said. “He seemed overwhelmed by love and appreciation, and he really wanted to say ‘thank you’ to all of us.”
The 33-year-old O’Brady documented the trip on the social networking services Instagram. He called his journey “The Impossible First”. He wrote that he traveled the last 129 kilometers in one big, final push to the finish line. The distance took over one day to complete. O’Brady wrote, “While the last 32 hours were some of the most challenging hours of my life, they have quite honestly been some of the best moments I have ever experienced.”
The day before, he wrote that he was “in the zone” and thought he could make it to the end without stopping. “I was listening to my body and taking care of the details to keep myself safe,” he wrote. “I called home and talked to my mom, sister and wife. I promised them I would stop when I need to.”
Other people have traveled across Antarctica, but they all had some form of assistance. They either had better, more plentiful supplies or devices that helped move them forward.
In 2016, British explorer Henry Worsley died in his attempt to travel alone across Antarctica unassisted. Worsley’s friend Louis Rudd, also from Britain, is attempting an unaided solo journey in Worsley’s honor. He was competing against O’Brady to be the first to do it. Besaw told the Associated Press that her husband plans to stay in Antarctica until Rudd finishes his trip.

5 . I was lucky on the first night of the trip, because I had an empty seat next to me. But I found out this wasn’t the best solution for sleeping. I woke up early and kept a journal.
I was excited to see Chicago. I had never been there before and didn't really know what to expect. l was also looking forward to finding somewhere to take a shower. I wouldn't recommend trying to shave (刮胡子) on the train, Even holding a toothbrush by your face could be dangerous with the constant movement of the train, let alone a razor(剃刀).
We had one last stop before Chicago, and I remembered hopping（跳跃）on the platform for a few minutes. It was cold! I was on my way to Cali, and figured I wouldn't need too many warm clothes. Brilliant. I had one hoodie (连帽上衣) and was wearing it for most of the trip. We got on the train and soon things changed from the scenery along the Great Lakes, into a more urban area. On the train, you aren’t presented with “Welcome to...” signs for different cities and towns. You get to see parts of them that aren’t cleaned up and beautified for your view. You get to go to the areas that aren't so pretty, and that’s another reason why I loved the experience.
We rolled past alleys, streets, and soon enough, a lot of other trains. Chicago seems to be quite busy. The amount of tracks and signals was amazing. The sun was rising when we rolled into Union Station's platform. The entire platform is inside a big “garage” for the trains. I grabbed my luggage and made my way inside the station. The architecture of Union Station was really amazing.
