Hello, everyone! It is my honor to deliver a speech on keeping air clean. As is know to us, we humans can’t live without air, just as fish can’t live without water. However, the World Health Organization has recently announced a shocked study about the air we breathe. It has found that almost everyone on the earth breathe unhealthy air. The data is rough from 600 cities in 117 countries. The study shows that mostly of the world’s people breathe the air that it breaks WHO air quality limits. As a result, million of people die every scar because pollution - related diseases. Therefore, it was important for us to take action to solve the environment problems and keep the air clean.

Our school lies at the foot of a mountain with a small river passes by. It used to be a quiet, clean or beautiful place. It is a pity that things have changed since a chemical factory built near our school one year ago. Every one day the factory produces many waste water and some other solid waste things. The terribly pollution is harmful by our health. What's worse, the great noise from the factory had a bad effect on us activities. As a result, our school is no longer that it used to be. Last term I joined in a geography research group. Our topic was environmental pollution and protection. We took many pictures to show the present pollution problems of our city. To our surprise, there are still a lot people doing silly things to our surrounding. Some people threw rubbish anywhere, but some cars give off harmful gases. What surprises us mostly is that waste water is sending into rivers by some factories. Worse still, people sometimes have to make their way through smog as the result of the pollution. Through our research, we have come to realize that everybody must pay attention for our environment and taking some measures to protect it.

When I was a child, I hoped to live in the city. I think I would be happy there. Now I am living in a city, and I miss my home in the countryside consisted of clean air and the green mountains. Built in 2015, our chemical factory is biggest one in our city. Nowadays over 2000 workers are working here. In the past, the waste from our factory cause serious pollution, that did great harm to the workers. Therefore, little was done to stop them.
In recent years, the harm of pollution have caught people’s attention. A special workshop has been built. The workshop is used to recycling the waste. Before several years of hard work, things have been great improved. We will quicken our factory’s development. We have been decided to bring in advanced technology and equipments from abroad.
