1 . Hotels are introducing programs aimed at healing the body and mind to appeal to health-conscious guests and those looking to boost their energy levels.
Typically a lifestyle observed by middle-aged or older people, yangsheng has gained popularity among younger Chinese in recent years. Yangsheng, or nurturing life, is a core component of traditional Chinese medicine that places essential emphasis on the prevention of illness and fostering health and well-being.
Growing stress from life and work is one of the reasons why people are seeking more ways to rejuvenate themselves. In an online survey polling 1,000 participants conducted by Shanghai-based consultancy CBNData in June 2021, 59 percent said they had experienced work-induced pressure and anxiety in the past year. Fifty percent of 962 respondents said they would participate in healing activities, such as massage and yoga, to relieve stress.
The increased interest in wellness is driving changes in the hotel industry. “Changes in society and the COVID-19 pandemic have greatly changed people’s attitudes toward health,” Tang Min, general manager of the Six Senses Qing Cheng Mountain hotel in Sichuan Province, told Jing Daily, a digital publication that focuses on luxury culture and lifestyles in China. “People are more eager to establish contact with themselves, others and nature. Generally, they hope that when their trip is over, they can live better than before,” she said.
For the hotel industry as a whole, she said the era of hotels only providing beds and meals is becoming a thing of the past. “Hotels today are more focused on the guest experience,” she said, adding that staying in a wellness hotel is a healthy experience that allows people to relax physically and mentally, change themselves and become a positive influence to people around them.
Looking into the future, Tang Min told Jing Daily that the concept of sustainable development will be a major trend in the wellness hotel industry. Sustainability(可持续性) in personal health and that in the natural world are expected to complement and exert a positive influence on each other, she noted.

8 . How can you tell if someone’s lying? The answer is, they’re probably not.
Traditional economics says that people are rational(理智的) beings who will lie if it’s to their advantage. A recent university study has shown that, actually, we’re pretty honest -especially when we’re at home.
Researchers in Germany phoned people at home and asked them to toss(投掷) a coin. There was a strong financial incentive(刺激) to fake the result: if the coin landed tails-up, the participants would receive money or a gift ticket, while if the coin landed heads-up, they would get nothing. Because they were on the phone, they knew there was no risk of getting caught if they lied.
And yet people told the truth. Over hundreds of tosses, a coin will land tails-up roughly 50% of the time. In this study over half the people asked (55.6%) said that the coin landed heads-up, which meant they would receive nothing.
Previous studies had found that people were more dishonest. In those laboratory studies, 75% of people reported a winning coin and claimed a reward. So the research team thinks it’s being in our own homes which makes us play fair, although it’s not yet clear why.
In fact both types of study show people are surprisingly reliable. Even in the laboratory, 25% of people turned down a reward by telling the truth. The researchers say this is because honesty is highly valued in human society. We care about our reputation and our sense of ourselves as respectable people. So lying has a psychological cost and it seems this cost is more important than the financial benefits of lying.

Alternatively, students can pay using leaves from moringa (辣木) and gotu kola plants (积雪草), which can be converted into herbal soap and sold to raise money for the academy, Food & Wine added.
The program has been running since March, after the college received a permit to allow it to operate on this basis, according to The Bali Sun.
