On Sunday, a bus in Chongqing fell into the Yangtze River,     1     left 15 people dead. The accident     2    (cause) by a fight between an angry passenger and the bus driver.

A woman passenger failed     3    (get) off at the right bus stop. She asked the driver to stop the bus and let her get off, but the driver refused. A quarrel then occurred, with both sides   using unkind     4    (word). Five minutes later, she struck the driver on the head with her smartphone, and the driver fought back with his right hand. Within two seconds, the driver took back his hand. However, he     5    (lose) control of the bus before he realized it. The bus hit a red car, and fell into the river.

    6     is very basic common sense that the lives and safety of the whole bus depend upon the driver, but the woman attacked the driver because of her own fault. On     7     other hand, the driver didn’t stay calm. As a driver     8    (responsibility) for the whole bus, he should have stopped the bus by the roadside to ensure safety while under attack. It was     9    (extreme) reckless(鲁莽的) to fight back.

I wonder why none of the passengers took action to stop the fight.     10     any one of the passengers had stepped forward bravely, the tragedy might have been prevented.
