A great fire has destroyed the medieval（中世纪的）cathedral(大教堂)of Notre-Dame in Paris, one of France's    1    (famous) landmarks. Thousands of people gathered in the streets around the cathedral, watching the flames in silence,some of    2    could be seen crying.
