One day, a boy had a fight with one of his classmates. Then he went to his grandfather and told him his story _________. “He is really bad” the boy said, “and I hate him.”

Just at this moment a man riding a horse came up to him. But the farmer was very disappointed (失望) when he saw who he was. It was the great man living nearby. The farmer had hoped to ask another farmer or a poor man like him.

But to his surprise, the great man got off his horse as soon as he came near. He said to the farmer, “I see you need help, friend. How good it is that I’m here just at the right time.” Then he took one end of the bag, the farmer took the other. They together lifted and put it on the horse.

“Sir,” asked the farmer, “ how can I pay you?”

“It’s quite easy,” the great man answered with a smile, “wherever you see anyone else in trouble, do the same for him.”

Most children don’t enjoy doing housework. They like playing computer games rather than cleaning the rooms. But in Australia, Jim and Robert’s mother, Mrs. Black, has good and proper methods (方法) to get their children to do housework. Here is an example

“Mom, have you worked out next week’s housework? Let Jim and me choose the cards. I can’t wait. It’s fun!”

When Robert shouted out, his mother had already put all the cards on their big table. On the cards, there are some words like these, “sweep the floor, clean your bedroom, help mom cook, wash vegetables, make beds, feed the fish, cut the wood, clean the bathroom” and many. Jim and Robert chose two cards for each day from Monday to Friday. Then they would them on the weekday task board. Jim likes to clean the bathroom (浴室), so he picked up (捡起) the card “clean the bathroom”. Robert loves to make the bed so he picked up his favorite card. Jim again picked up “wash vegetables” and Robert chose “feed the fish”. Soon the two boys were happy to take away all the cards.

To help the children do housework, their mother thought hard and came up with this idea. Of course, the parents did the housework on the weekends and left Jim and Robert two days.

Do stars only appear at night? The answer is no. Venus(金星) is the one and only star that can be seen in the daytime. It shone at its brightest in the night sky on February 17th, 2017. Venus is the second planet from the sun in our solar system. It is the second brightest natural object, behind Earth’s moon, in the night sky. Why is it so bright?

First of all, Venus is the closest planet to Earth. It is also covered by highly reflective(照射的) clouds, which can reflect about 70 percent of the sunlight striking(照射)it, almost twice as much as Earth does.

Some called 2017 the year of Venus, because the planet is at its brightest when it goes further away from the sun, and nearer to Earth. The brightest moment occurred once in February, and happened again, during daylight, on April 30th.

If venus is so bright and close to us, isn’t it a better choice for human exploration than Mars? It is closer to earth than Mars and it’s closer to earth in size. the closer distance to then means solar power(太阳能) would be easier to produce as well.

However, with a temperature of about 465℃ on the surface, Venus is the hottest planet in our solar system.

But scientists never give up. Recently, a team of NASA and Russian scientists created new computer equipment that can stand the temperature of 480℃. It can work under Venus-like conditions for almost 22 days.

The next step, according to the scientists, is to send a probe(探测器) to Venus by 2025.

We cannot live with good moods all the time. Everyone has bad feelings sometimes. When you feel bad, how can you deal with（处理）such feelings? Here is my advice.

    26     It is a mistake not to talk to anyone when you are feeling sad, worried or nervous.

If you keep bad feelings inside all the time, you may get sick easily. But if you talk with others about them, like your parents, your friends or teachers, you’ll begin to feel better than before.

Why?     27     Though your problems and worries will not disappear（消失）a once, they won’t be bad for your health. At least, someone else knows and understands what’s wrong with you.     28    

You should always remember that your parents love you very much.     29    

They have much experience and are always there to help you. But if you don’t want to talk with them, what should you do? Who can you turn to?     30     Maybe that person can help you solve your problems and make you feel better. Then you’ll feel as happy as before.

During the Warring States Period (战国时期), there was a musician called Gongming Yi who played musical instrument—qixianqin very well. He loved it so much that he     36     it at home almost every day.
