You are never too young to start your own business. In Western countries such as the US and Australia, kids make their own lemonade (柠檬水) ________ to people on the street.

They are attracting the attention of the world. They are the backbone (脊梁) of the force that is going to shape our future. Who are they? They are the young generation who were born after 2000.

Obviously, the young generation is “brave warriors (战士)” who want to challenge impossibilities and push boundaries. Freestyle skier Gu Ailing is a good example. “I have never done the ‘left 16’ before. I hadn’t prepared much for it apart from two days on the air bag,” Gu told China Daily, “but I felt it was a chance to push myself to the limits”.

But for these young athletes, the sport is never just about scores, but also about having as much fun as possible. Born in the US, Gu faced criticism and doubts for representing China in the Beijing Winter Olympics. When questioned by The Guardian at a news conference on Feb 8, “I’m an 18-year-old girl out here living my best life. I’m having a great time,” Gu said. “It doesn’t really matter if other people are happy or not, because I feel I’m doing my best and I’m enjoying the entire process.”

Gu’s good friend, Chinese snowboarder Su Yiming also shares a similar attitude. He takes sports as a way to have fun. “All I did today was enjoy the runs and concentrate on my tricks. As long as I am on my snowboard I am happy,” Su told China Daily.

This is young generation that dares to push the limits but also enjoys life.

If most museums, theaters and libraries are closed, you might miss the cultural activities you used to have on holidays. But don’t worry. As we are living in the Internet age,virtual (虚拟的) museums, concerts and libraries are at our fingertips, ready to be discovered from our homes.

This September, you may have noticed a few new textbooks at school. New Chinese language textbooks appeared on the desks of first-year primary and junior high school students across the country.

Written by the Ministry of Education, the New textbooks will replace older version (版本) used before. The new version focuses more on ancient Chinese literature, according to XinhuA. The change is part of the efforts from the Ministry of Education to improve students’ knowledge of traditional Chinese culture. Textbooks for three-year junior high schools have more traditional Chinese articles, 132 in total. They make up 51.7 percent of all the texts.

The articles were chosen from classic proses (散文), essays (论文), historical records and poems dating back to the Han, Tang and Song dynasties. There are also more than 30 articles about revolutionary history for junior high school students, such as Chairman Mao Zedong’s well-known piece Serve the People. The new textbooks are well received. Although the topics are serious, the texts are presented with lively illustrations which make them easy to understand.

“They are very lovely and favored by both teachers and students,” Du Bai, a Chinese teacher at No. 2 Fruit Lake Primary School in Hubei, told Xinhua. Li Jie, a professor of Chinese language and literature at Communication University of China, couldn’t agree more with the change. “Learning some ancient literature will help junior high school students enjoy the beauty of traditional Chinese culture and prepare them to gain further knowledge of the field”, he told China Daily.

Have you ever done housework? Most of us probably answer,“No, never.” Most of us think cleaning the bathroom or cooking is boring. However, the fact is that someone has to do it.     31         32     However, if we all do some housework, it will seem less annoying(恼人的). Why should your mother wash your dirty dishes? Part of growing up is being able to take care of yourself. Please do a few things!

Some of us may think that we are so busy that we can’t do housework. But most parents work all day and are then expected to keep a clean house!     33     It seems much better to have three or more people together keep the house clean.

    34     It can be very fun if you are creative. Learning how to cook a meal is a great skill. If you learn how to cook your favorite food, you will show others that you have a very special talent(才能).

Don’t be afraid to help around the house. Your parents will greatly like it. The next time you see something that needs to be done at home, do it yourself and show that you can do anything!     35     It helps you to understand the idea of fairness(公平).
