Ma Yue, an 18-year-old girl from countryside of Hebei, is a student at the Liaoning Ballet High School. When she was in the third grade, she and her classmates started to learn ballet with the help of volunteers of the “Ballet on the Field” project.
In 2012, Guan Yu, a ballet teacher, set up the ballet lessons in Duancun. Every Sunday, Guan Yu and students of the Beijing Dance Academy went to teach children to learn ballet. With the help of them, children danced better and better.
In 2016, Ma Yue went to the Liaoning Ballet, making herself the first in the group of girls to “go out” of the countryside. Her parents were very happy.
Ballet means a lot to Ma Yue. Life without dance, she says, is meaningless. “Every time I meet difficulties, I’ll practice dancing. Then I’ll feel the world is great again.” Ma Yue said.

How funny would it be to see memes (表情包) in our textbooks? Fourteen high school students from Sichuan Province have made this a reality.
They wrote a set of creative textbooks that include five subjects: Chinese, English, Math, Chemistry and Physics. They share their notes and experiences to help students prepare for high school entrance exams (中考). You can see funny memes almost everywhere in their textbooks.
The language they use is not too serious. Each textbook has its own shining points, too. The English textbook introduces movies and TV series. The Chemistry textbook has wuxia characters. There is a boy named Shangguan Huaxue in the book. He meets a girl and they learn Chemistry together.
Yan Zuhuai, 15, a top student at Chengdu No. 7 High School, is the editor-in-chief of the textbooks. He got the idea to create the textbooks in June. “Many students wanted me to share my notes with them. When I saw people sharing bikes, I thought, why not share knowledge as well?” Yan said.
But when he put all of his notes together, he found that they were boring. Realizing that his classmates enjoy online novels and memes, he decided to add these things. He wrote ideas for each textbook and invited 13 students to join him in creating them.
Their first drafts (草稿) came out in August. Students and teachers praised them. But Yan felt the books needed to be improved. The final versions (版本) will come out at the end of December.
About 2,500 people have ordered them. Many publishing houses have showed interest in them.

Parents are the closest people to you in the world. They love you and they would do anything for you. But like many teenagers, Li Mei has a problem. She doesn’t get on well with her parents. “I really want to be my dad’s sweet girl. But my dad just doesn’t understand me,” said Li Mei. Recently, a study has shown that many families had the same problem as Li Mei’s family. They don’t like talking with their parents and hardly feel happy at home. But you and your parents will be much happier if you can talk with each other. Here are some ways to have a good talk with them:
First, make a list of the things you and your parents disagree about most. With each of these things, try to find an answer acceptable to both you and your parents. It is no good for you to require everything to go your way. You have to be ready to change a little if you want them to change.
Second, talk to your parents when it is convenient for them. Remember that your parents may have to work long hours and this can make them tired, so be patient with them.
Third, listen to what your parents have to say. How can you expect them to listen to you if you are not ready to listen to them? Your parents were once young like you, so they understand your situation better than you expect.
Finally, if you do not get a satisfactory result, try not to get too angry. Talk with your parents and find out their reasons. Part of growing up is learning to live with these kinds of disagreements, and learning to understand another person’s way of looking at things.
