England is an island country in the sea. It lies in the west of Europe. It is divided by the English Chanel (海峡) in the south between England and France. The North Sea is on the east of it. Its official (正式的) name is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

England has a long history culture. Shakespeare is regarded as the greatest wrier in the English language in the world. The education is very famous in the word such as the universities of Oxford and Cambridge.

The main spot in England is football, and it’s also the most popular sport in England. It is played in primary schools, middle schools, colleges and universities, and people play it in cities, towns and villages every week. The best time to play football lasts from the beginning of April to the end of September.

There are many beautiful places of interest in England. The River Thames is a great river in England. It flows through southern England. The tower Bridge of London is well-known in the world. Big Ben is on the Palace of Westminster. The London Eye is on the south bank of the River Thames. You can sit in the London Eye to enjoy the whole London. You can find all kinds of treasures from around the world in the British Museum. Tourists come to England from all over the world. You can travel to the United Kingdom to feel natural and cultural beauty.

We were sure that Jim was locked in the hut (小屋). We spent two nights digging a hole under the hut. We came up under Jim’s bed. He was very surprised to see us. We promised Jim to free him when we were ready. Then we climbed through the hole back to our bedroom and talked about a plan.

Tom wanted to make an adventure (冒险). He wrote a letter to Uncle Silas telling him somebody was planning to steal Jim. I put the letter the front door. We waited for the opportunity to free Jim.

The next night, some men were in Uncle Silas’s siting room-all with guns! We jumped out of the bedroom window and climbed into the hut. “Come on, Jim!” Tom whispered. “Huck, you go first. Then you, Jim. I’ll go later.”

We heard somebody shouting, “The thieves have seen Jim!” We quickly climbed out and ran towards the fence.

We kept running like our feet were on fire. We made it to the fence. I jumped over the fence and Jim followed me. Tom was right behind us. Unluckily, he caught his trousers on a nail (钉子). He pulled them free but the men heard the noise. They started shooting. We ran to the river and jumped into the canoe (独木舟). We lay down, out of breath.

“Jim! You’re a free man!” I said. We were all happy and Tom was the hero. “It was a great adventure,” Tom said. “And look! I got a bullet in my leg!” It was true. His leg was bleeding badly but he considered it as part of the adventure.
