Dominic Toretto (played by Vin Diesel), Brian O’ Conner (Paul Walker) and Mia Toretto (Jordana Brewster) are planning to steal $100 million from businessman Hernan Reyes (Joaquim de Almeida). At the same time, agent (联邦特工) Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) is chasing after them. The story’s pretty fast-moving and the car chase at the end is amazing.
—Derek
Well, if I’d known it was an action film, I wouldn’t have gone to see it. I mean, I can’t stand action films. And I’ll tell you another thing — I can’t stand Vin Diesel. I mean he can’t act to save his life. The film would have been much better with someone like Mau Damon or George Clooney. The only good thing about it was the soundtrack (电影配乐) which was pretty good. And I won’t be going to see any other Fast & Furious movies either!
—Zoe
Well it started off all right, but the romance between Mia and Brian was a bit inadequate (不足的) and the whole thing lost its way. It was as if the director couldn’t decide whether he was making a thriller, an action movie or a romantic comedy (喜剧), so he ended up making none of them.
—Mario
It was amazing! I can’t believe it was really over two hours long. It just flashed by. The direction was superb; Justin did a really good job. And the acting was great. I know Vin Diesel isn’t going to win an Oscar or anything like that but he’s good at what he does. And the plot! I laughed out loud quite a few times. The funny thing is, I would not have bothered seeing it if my friend hadn’t suggested going.

The child went missing on January 22, 2019 while playing with friends at his grandmother’s house in the southern state of North Carolina. When the other children returned to the house and Casey did not, the family searched the area for almost an hour before calling the police. The police organized a search team to search the nearby forest for the little boy. But two days went by and Casey was still not found.
Then on January 24, someone called the police saying he heard a child crying in the forest. The police followed up the information and found Casey at about 9:30 that night. They pulled him out of some briar (荆棘). He was in good health.
Casey told the police that he had hung out with a black bear for two days, a bear he called his “friend.” The police told reporters that Casey did not say how he was able to survive (活下来,幸存) in the forest for two days in the cold, rainy weather. However, the police said, “He did say he had a friend in the forest that was a bear that was with him.”
Hundreds of people helped in the search, including some 600 volunteers, policemen and soldiers. An officer told reporters that at no point did he think Casey had been kidnapped (绑架). Casey’s mother Brittany Hathaway told reporters she thanked everyone who joined the search for her son. “We just want to tell everybody that we really thank you for taking the time out to come to search for Casey,” said his mother.

So I boarded the plane in mid-August, and hated the long flight. I arrived, tired and hungry. I left my husband two years ago, alone, in our old New Orleans house.
I was all set and ready to perform for my sister for the music festival on Sunday morning when I received a call from Chicago. The hurricane was predicted to hit our city, and many people had already evacuated, but my husband chose to stay behind. He could not get a call to me on the other side of the world, but he could call his cousin in Chicago. He gave his cousin a message for me, that he would be just fine, and not to worry.
As the days went on, I finally took the stage in front of hundreds of Europeans, and I realized. thanks to CNN that New Orleans was under water.
I performed, hoping that my husband would survive. And I performed perfectly. The audience stood and applauded. I left the stage and went straight to the TV. I saw the street sign near my home, on Humanity Street, but nothing below it, except water.
In the days that followed, I found out that my house, my car, my clothes, my furniture, everything that I’d left behind was gone. but not my husband. He survived by riding on the rear bumper (后保险杠) of a VW bus,, holding on to the overhead luggage rack, in the pouring rain, down the highway from New Orleans, halfway to Baton Rouge. The rest of the journey was a long walk, but he survived.
By the first week of September, I flew back to the Baton Rouge airport, and hugged my husband. Since then, our relationship has grown deeper; we have completely rebuilt our house, bought a new car, bought new furniture and new clothes and joined an inspirational, spirit-filled community.

【推荐3】Scientists say they are in a race against time. The endangered Franciscana Dolphin population off the Argentine coast is shrinking. The dolphins are dying in fishing nets and scientists are trying to reverse(扭转)that trend.
Doctor Martin Mandez is one of the team leaders. He and his colleagues are combining three lines of research. They are catching the dolphins and implanting devices for satellite tracking. They are testing environmental conditions such as the food supply and water temperature to better understand why the dolphins choose to live there. And back in New York, Mandez is studying the dolphins on a molecular(分子的)level by sequencing(测定序列)their DNA to better classify family groups.
They think that they basically completed a very important piece of research. They combined each of their new data for addressing population structure.
The team hopes the combined data will paint a very clear picture of the rare dolphin’s habitat, allowing scientists like Pablo Bordino to make informed recommendations for their protection. Bordino says the research is born some surprising discoveries.
They are finding that those animals are special residents. They don’t like to move a lot so that results support the genetic results too.
And that could be important, according to Mandez, gill net fishing in certain areas has the potential to wipe out entire families of Franciscana Dolphins.
Basically the end-goal is to preserve such kind of dolphins, as a viable(可繁衍的)species. This means having viable populations to distribute(分布)in space. So they are basically doing everything they can, combining all the evidence they can, different tools, and different lines of research to provide the best understanding they can to then put together a sense of conservation plan. So they are basically at the point. They trust throwing science at its best to address this issue.
Mandez says in recent years, local fishing and the government in Argentina had been helpful to their mission. Ultimately though, he believes the fate of the Franciscana dolphin may come down to science.
