On Friday, Eileen Gu, the 18-year-old freestyle skier, simply turned the halfpipe (U型池) course into her own     1     (person) playground in the final round of competition at the Beijing Winter Olympics.

She warmed up with a 93.25 on her first pass before going even     2     (high) and bigger 10 score a 95.25 on her second pass. She had such a big lead after two runs     3     she was able to stage a carefree celebratory run down the halfpipe. This was the sort of run Gu dreamed     4     : a playful picture-perfect run to draw a successful end to     5     contest.

“She’s really pushing the sport to a new level.” said British freestyler Zoe Atkin, who finished     6     (nine). “It’s really great to see and it’s so inspiring. It makes me     7     (want) to be a better skier. I think she’s     8     (amaze)for the sport.”

There’s been plenty of pressure and lots of attention on Gu and her Olympic     9     (perform). But it didn’t seem to bother her. Nothing has. She just went about her business of winning medals     10     enjoying the sport.

Chinese shooter Yang Qian won the first gold medal of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games in the women’s 10m air rifle (气步枪) on Saturday. Recently, the National Roller Skating Championships was held in Lishui, Zhejiang. Qin Yuqing, a member of the national freestyle roller skating team, gained an     1    (impress) triumph, which marked her debut in the adult division of competitive events.

Born in the year 2004, this young enthusiast of roller skating and traditional Chinese culture has already secured numerous     3    (victory) in competitions. Qin began her roller skating journey when she was just 6 years old. She felt     4     indescribable bond to roller skating, and recognizing her passion, her parents swiftly enrolled her in the sport. From that moment on, she applied herself     5     daily practice with considerable energy.

She recalled a moment when she fell in the middle of a competition, experiencing a pang of     7    (embarrass), but quickly adjusting her mindset. “Failure is okay.     8     matters isn’t whether you stumble, but whether you stand up again.”
