The clear water at this UNESCO world heritage(遗产) site in Thingvellir National Park will leave you speechless. It is one of the highest rated dive sites in the world. During this journey, you will snorkel within a crack between the Eurasian and American continents. You’ll experience truly amazing views of the colorful underwater landscape, marine life(海洋生物), and geological formations. Silfra’s water is fresh and drinkable at around 2°C -- 4°C all year round. Visibility can reach more than 100 meters, and swimming often feels more like flying.

This trip is for anyone who knows how to swim and is up for a unique adventure. We offer transportation with a pick-up in Reykjavik, and provide you with a dry suit. The total length of the tour is approximately five hours, and includes in-water snorkelling lasting around 30 minutes. We’ll guide you through the main Silfra Big Crack, Silfra Hall, Silfra Cathedral and Silfra Lagoon.

★ Silfra entrance fee of 1,000 ISK.

Availability: All year at 09:00 and 15:00. Pick-up in one hour before.

Requirements:

Participants need to complete the Silfra medical statement before the tour.

Divers must:

★ Be at least 18 years old (young people under 18 years old need a signature from their legal guardian), and the maximum age is 65 years old;

★ Be able to communicate in English.

★ Be physically fit;

★ Not be pregnant;

★ Not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs;

★ Sign a medical form.

【推荐3】Saving Money on Holiday Travel

The holiday season isn’t just about shopping and gifts.     1     However, holiday travel can get very expensive. Fortunately, the following tips will help you keep your travelling expense under control.

Plan ahead. The earlier you book your travel, from tickets to hotels, the easier it is to find good deals.     2     In fact, you should book travel one to three months in advance so that you have more opportunities to find the best deals.

Book your air travel on cheaper days. Travelling by air on Tuesdays and Wednesdays often costs less than travelling on Fridays and Sundays. During the holidays, though, it’s not just about a specific day of the week.     3     Days right before and after a holiday can be more expensive. If you don’t travel on Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day, you might be able to find an even better deal.

Consider travelling overnight. Early-morning flights often cost less than those at more convenient time.     4     Depending on where you are going, and the ways of getting there, overnight travel can help you avoid a night in the hotel, as well as save you money on travel to your destination.

    5     You can’t bring water or drink with you on the plane, but you can bring sandwiches and other food. When you’re on the road, you can buy food at local food stores to make your own meals.

【推荐1】How can I Exhibit in the Atrium Gallery？

The Atrium Gallery in LSE (the London School of Economics and Political Science) provides a space for exhibiting a range of creative works, especially the works of our students.

We aim to promote a programme of high-quality art exhibitions which reflect creative activity.

Proposals to exhibit

We select exhibitions by proposal submission. Selected exhibitions showcase innovative, ambitious new work that contributes to the School's learning and research activities, and is a source of pleasure and inspiration to students, staff, visitors and the wider LSE community.

You must be a student at LSE at the time of the proposed exhibition. LSE Arts has no source of funding, therefore we will normally expect proposals to come with a minimum level of funding to cover core exhibition costs.

Proposals will be judged termly for exhibition the following academic term. And there is a high demand for our gallery space, so please list your first choice of dates and any alternate dates that would also work.

Complete our exhibition proposal form and send it to arts@ lse. ac.uk with accompanying images.

Proposal Submission Time

The deadline for exhibition proposals for Summer term 2019 is Friday 18 January 2019. The committee will review applications and successful applicants will be informed on Monday 11 February 2019. Exhibitions will be on display from 29 April to 14 June 2019.

Not all applications will be successful. Successful proposals will generally be exhibited the term after receiving the proposal.

【推荐2】There are some things only adults can do to prevent and stop fires, such as using smoke detectors and fire extinguishers, but there are also many fire safety rules everyone should learn to help prevent fires and to know what to do if one does start. Here are some safety rules for kids.

★If a child notices that an electrical appliance is giving off a strange smell, they should ask an adult to turn it off, and it should be fixed before it's used again.

★Children should have an adult with them if they cook food. They should never leave food by itself and make sure handles of pots and pans on the stove are turned inward. They should also be aware that anything made of metal should never be put in a microwave.

★The family should work together to plan an escape route in case there's a fire, including finding at least two ways out of every room. Kids should practice this with their parents two to three times a year and learn to test doors with their hands before opening them.

★If your clothing catches fire, running will make the flames bigger. Kids should practice the proper technique of stopping where they are, dropping to the ground and rolling to put out the flames.

★Burns should be treated by an adult—the injured area should be put in cold water for 10—15 minutes to relieve the pain. Ice should never be used, as it can cause further injury. If a child has a serious burn that blisters, they should be taken to a doctor or the emergency room.
