Last week our school hold a sports meeting. Realize it was our last school sports meeting, we decided to make it a unforgettable experience. We first attended the opening ceremony, for whom our class had made a lot of preparations. Much to our excitements, our performance was a success. My classmates participated various events such as running, the high jump and the long jump. Due to the hard training the athletes had done before, and their performance was very impressive. Finally the result came which our class won the second place! Cup in hand, we took a picture together proud. This sports meeting will be a precious memory for all of them as time goes by.

Yesterday we had our PE lesson. The teacher had taught us how to practice high jump. The bell rang and we went to the playground in line. The teacher told me the way of jumping and then gave us example. Followed the teacher one after another, my classmate did very well. Soon it was my turn and I felt little nervously. I failed at my first attempt, but I was not a bit discouraging. I kept on thinking about the teacher’s words and practising. I managed to jump over the pole at the end. From this class I have realized one can succeed whether he was perseverance(毅力), just as an old saying go, “Where there is a will, there is a way.”

Last October, we have had a series of reading activities. In the first two weeks, we read some great books. Among these books, I like The Old Man and The Sea better, from which I’ve learned never to give up when met difficulties. In the afternoon of October 18, we held a poetry contest. I recited a poem writing by myself and got first prize. At the end of the month, we acted out some famous work. My classmates and I performed The Million Pound Bank Note. But to our great delight, our performance was huge success. We both enjoyed such reading activities, that are really benefical to us.

When I was a child, I hoped to live in the city. I think I would be happy there. Now I am living in a city, and I miss my home in the countryside consisted of clean air and the green mountains. Fortunately, the environment has been polluted on the development of industrialization. Lots of studies have shown that global warming has already become a very seriously problem. The airs we breathe in is getting dirtier and dirtier, that causes many diseases. We must draw conclusion and find ways to protect our environment. If you fail to do so , we’ll live to regret it .

Last month, our school launched a campaign which intention was to promote environmental protection. The campaign last for one week. Firstly, there was a photo display to show the seriously pollution caused by human activities. Secondly, there was a lecture on many small step that we could take in our daily life protect the environment. For example, taking the bus or use the bike-sharing system would be a good way. Last but not the least, we students were encouraging to decorate our classrooms with recycled materials. Through the campaign, they have benefited a lot. We realize that it is our responsible to leave a better, cleaner and healthier planet for future generations.

As is known by us, our government is trying to make our city the National Civilized City at present. We hope we can also do our bit to help fulfill this goal.

First of all, we should mind our language and become civilized speakers. Always remember to say 'Please' and 'Thanks' and don't talk and laugh loudly in public. Seen people in trouble, we might as well lend them a helping hand. In addition, to be civilized pedestrians. We must obey traffic rules and never cross the streets before the traffic lights are red. Keeping our environment cleanly is also advisable, it means we shouldn't litter or spit in public places. Only by starting with the little things around us we make a great difference to our city image.

Let's take measure now and make joint efforts to make our city more civilized.
