Melbourne Magic Show
The lights are not bright and you take your seat in an elegant back room of a five—star Melbourne hotel. The stage is set, the mood is relaxed and the guests are ready to witness the impossible made by Luke Hocking. You’ve seen magic shows before but probably never this close.
Cooks’ Cottage
Originally located in Yorkshire, England, and built in 1755 by the parents of Captain James Cook, Cooks’ Cottage was brought to Melbourne by Russell Grimwade in 1934. Navigator and explorer Captain James Cook never lived in the cottage—he’d been away from home for almost ten years when his father built it—but this connection to the Cook family was enough to prompt(促使)Grimwade to transport the cottage to the other side of the world.

Kuala Lumpur
You’ll likely be flying into or leaving from Malaysia’s capital when you visit some of these destinations, but if not, try and spend some time in Kuala Lumpur. Head to the top of the Petronas Twin Towers and walk the bridge between them if you don’t mind significant heights! There is plenty more to see and do in the city, and it is a great place to explore. Be sure to enjoy as much of the fantastic food as you can, too.
Tropical Islands
There is definitely no shortage of tropical islands in Southeast Asia, so choose one of the many beaches and then relax. The crisp blue water is great for a swim, or you can just lay by the beach and work on your tan (棕褐色皮肤). Two recommendations are Rabbit Island in Cambodia and the Ko Tarutao National Park in Thailand.
Halong Bay
If you’re near Hanoi, then you’ll want to walk to Halong Bay. There is no better way to see how impressive Vietnam is than by sailing around the bay or islands. A handy tip is to spend a little bit of money to ensure you do this trip comfortably; there are cheaper tours that will lessen the experience, so splash out a little here.
Bangkok
Bangkok is an experience that everyone should have at least once. It’s also a great springboard to the rest of Southeast Asia. There are plenty of chances for you to argue about the prices, and for those who like to party, the nightlife is exciting.

【推荐2】Danez Smith, one of America's most popular young poets and the author of Don't Call Us Dead, recommends his 5 favorite books.
Lilith's Brood by Octavia E. Butler (1989)
This book about aliens from the novelist who predicted "Make America Great Again" asks necessary questions about the harmful structures which we put our faith in despite our intelligence, and also how or if we will evolve out of our most dangerous selves. An essential, human book — with aliens!
The Collected Poems of Lucille Clifton (2012)
The book is my bible. Open up to any page and Clifton delivers a word. Whether the subject is roaches, family, death, or surviving, she has a poem for all occasions. She can create the most complicated magic out of the simplest words.
Man vs. Sky by Corey Zeller (2013)
In his brief prose poems, Zeller represents the voice of a recently dead friend as he travels through the afterlife. Besides attracting me with its beauty to this day, it taught me that we can offer the dead not just our grief but our imaginations and dreams as well.
My Hero Academia by Kohei Horikoshi (2014)
I'm a sucker for high school drama, superpowers, good-hearted heroes, and complicated bad characters. This manga(动漫)series is one of my favorite escapes. In a world where everybody and their mama has a superpower (literally), what makes someone a hero isn't about power or strength but about the desire to make people smile. Instant tears.
Deus Ex Nigrum by Jasmine Reid (2019)
I recently picked this chapbook for a prize. It's a marvel of language and heart. Reid's lyrics map the ordinary and the extraordinary with rare and invigorating skill. In a world and a country ever dangerous to the black people, this poet says, "If I am to be a twist ending, let it be that I lived." I am so excited to follow Reid's poems into the future.
