Helen Keller was a special girl who couldn’t see or hear. Her behaviour was often    1    (bear)and she was stubborn and angry because she couldn’t speak, read     2    write at the age of 7.

Anne’s technique was simple and straightforward. Music can not only bring us wonderful     1     （enjoy）, but also cheer us up when we are tired or sad. And many people have the habit of enjoying music when they are free. But     2     our surprise, one English school allows children to listen to music or even to have the TV on while they are studying, and they find     3     helpful to improve the students’ grades.

According to a study at Millfield School in the UK, around 20% of teenagers work better with background music, and up to 80% can concentrate better when     4     （permit）to finish their work with soft music on. The research has made the school use a very new way,     5     （encourage）students to discover which learning styles are really     6     （suit）for them, and then do their homework listening to music or even lying down. Many parents are now accepting it at home     7     children are allowed to do their homework with the television on.

“I prefer     8     （work）with music on,” said Sam, a 13-year-old girl. “At first my parents     9     （think）I didn’t study hard, but when they saw my improved grades, they     10     （glad）agreed.”
