Traveling is fun and it gets more     1    (interest) when we take a long trip for the first time all alone. For my vacation, it was decided that I would visit my grandparents with my parents. But since     2     unexpected job came up for my parents, I chose     3    (travel) alone. From then on I was nervous and excited about     4     the trip would go.     5     the day of the trip, my mom packed my bags, prepared food for me and then     6    (give) me a 30-minute lesson on being careful and staying away from     7    (strange). She also told me that I should phone her at every station that I went through. Throughout the journey, I was not     8    (sleep) at all. My mother took a picture of me     8    (stand) between Prince Charles and Prince Harry. From there we took a taxi to Buckingham Palace, the home of the two princes, to watch The Changing of the Guard but     9    (fortunate) we couldn’t really see well as there were thousands of tourists waiting     10    (take) photos of the ceremony.

Located in northern Ariaona, Grand Canyon National Park is one of the most spectacular     1    (example) of erosion (侵蚀) anywhere in the world,     2    (measure) roughly 277 river miles in length, up to 18 miles in width and a mile deep, it is truly     3     natural wonder. It is on this side that you’ll find the most tourists. For a break from the crowds, head to the North Rim. This is the place for backwoods camping and hardcore hiking. For an unforgettable view of the canyon, consider     9    (sign) up for a helicopter tour. It will be an extraordinary life experience for tourists     10    (enjoy) the majestic views!

The next morning, the two girls arose early to take the train to Lake Louise,     1     (pass) through the Canadian Rockies.     2     (see) from the train window, the mountains and forests of Canada looked massive. When the train arrived at the station, they took a taxi to Lake Louise, where the blue water literally took their breath away with its exceptional beauty. They spent the night, and then took a coach bound north through the Canadian Rockies to Jasper.     3     (look) at the beautiful scenery, they both agreed that it was the most awesome journey they had ever taken. In addition     4     seeing spectacular mountain peaks and forests, one highlight of their trip was being able to see many different creatures, including deer, mountain goats, and even a grizzly bear.

Lake Tianchi is located in the Changbai Mountains in Jilin province. It is the     1    (high) volcanic lake in the world. There     2     (be) reports of monsters in it since the beginning of the last century. Meng Fanying, the director of a local tourist office, said that the monster seemed to be black     3     colour, and jumped out of the water like a seal.

Xue Junlin, a local photographer, claimed that     4     head looked like a horse,     5     no one really got a     6     (clearly) look at the mysterious creature.

A soldier said the monster was greenish­black and had     7     round head with 10­centimetre horns.

Li Xiaohe,     8     was visiting the lake with his family, claimed to have seen a round black creature     9     (move) quickly through the water.

Many people believe its existence.     10    , scientists are sceptical about this.
