Are you good at writing poetry? Enter your poem to join! Our poetry contest is held every two years. Write a poem about how the pandemic has changed your life.
Prizes
The contest awards one first place prize of $2,000 and a first prize wall plaque($100 value);twenty second place prizes of $100 each and a second place wall plaque($75 value);one hundred third place winners of a third place wall plaque($25 value).
Rules
Follow all rules carefully to prevent disqualification(取消资格).
IMPORTANT:
☆Contestants must be at least thirteen years of age.
☆Only one poem per person in a family is allowed.
☆A poem in its entirety must be an original work by the person entering the contest.
☆All entries are judged anonymously(匿名地). Please do not include your name, address, phone number, etc., or your entry will be disqualified.
Deadline: Email your entry by 30th June 2023.
Length:42 lines max. No minimum. Title not included in the line count.
Format: Entries must be typed. We do not accept handwritten submissions.
Fees:£10 per poem.
Judging: The judges’ decision is final and no individual correspondence(通信) can be entered into. Judges are unable to comment on individual entries. Judging is fair.
Copyright: Worldwide copyright of each entry remains with the author but the Bridport Prize has unrestricted rights to publish the winning and highly praised poems.

【推荐2】National Public Radio (NPR) Music’s Tiny Desk Contest is back. Artists can begin to submit an entry from this morning on Feb. 2nd. The submission will last 14 days. This isn’t just another regular year of the Contest-it’s the 10th anniversary.
The panel (小组) of judges has doubled in size compared to previous years. The panel has a group of industry experts who are eager to see what this year’s participants can share. And there’s a great team of NPR’s Music station hosts on the panel: Amelia Mason. Novena Carmel and Stas THEE Boss.

Help someone who is having a seizure
Seizures (疾病突发) can be scary things for people who have never experienced them before. Luckily, helping people with seizures is relatively straightforward.
·Clear the surroundings to protect the person from hurting themselves.
·Activate (激活) emergency medical services if the seizure lasts more than 5 minutes or if the person is not breathing afterward.
·After this period of time has ended, help them to the floor and put something soft or flat under their head. Turn them on to their side to ease breathing, but do not hold the person down or try to stop their movements.
·Be friendly and reassure them as their consciousness (意识) returns and do not offer food or water until they are fully alert.
Help someone survive a heart attack
It helps to know the symptoms of a heart attack, which can include rapid heartbeat, pressure or pain in the chest, a sore throat, general unease, and sweating. Rush the person to the hospital immediately while giving them an aspirin, which the person should chew.
Identify someone having a stroke
Again, knowing the symptoms of a stroke is important. They include temporary inability to talk or understand what is being said, confusion, loss of balance or dizziness, inability to raise their arms and severe headaches with no warning, among others. Rush a person that you suspect has had a stroke to the emergency room immediately.
