Teenagers often have problems with English. Yesterday we hold a discussion about what to learn English well. We came up with some suggestion. A lecture on “English learning” was held the last Friday in our school. The lecture giving by a professor from Peking University lasts from 2:00 to 4:00. He stressed serious the importance of learning English in modern times. Then he shared her learning experience with us. Besides, he introduced some useful ways memorize English words or improve spoken English. After the interested lecture, we asked him for advices on the problems what we had while learning English. We have learned a lot from this lecture.

He suggests that we should practise English as many as possible. We can do this by listening to English programmes on radio and TV, like news programmes, teach programmes and films. We must also remember to read English newspapers and books. It's important to get to a good student's dictionary. Student's dictionaries are much easier to use because they have clearly explanations. They also have more examples of everyday phrases. And you know all those similar words we get confusing with? The differences between them are explained. Beside, these dictionaries have headwords that are darker. I don't know student's dictionaries could be of such great helpful.
