Personal development is the ongoing act of assessing your life goals and building your skills and qualities to reach your potential. The path to personal development is a road with many challenges.     1

Set one goal. If you are ready to speed up your personal growth and start making the changes you’ve promised yourself, you must start with one goal.     2     For example, you should say, “I want to lose 5 pounds by August 1st” rather than “I want to lose weight”.

Do one thing every day that moves you forward. One of the major obstacles people face in making changes in their lives is setting big goals and thinking too far ahead.     3     Try one thing every day that moves you forward. This is an awesome way to jump-start your personal growth.

4     Every successful person acknowledges that their success was achieved with a considerable amount of encouragement and help along the way. They can be in the form of a coach, friend, book, video or a group of members. Share your goals with successful people and people who want to achieve the same thing as you, and you will achieve personal development.

Celebrate your success! Jump-starting your personal development requires effort and courage.     5     You deserve the approval for making changes. Cheer yourself on, share your achievements with others, and appreciate your bravery in trying new things.

A.Learn from successful people.
B.Surround yourself with support.
C.Here are some challenges you have to face in reality.
D.But if you start now and start wisely, you can make it.
E.Be specific, be clear, and set a realistic time frame for completion.

【推荐1】Do you enjoy reading? Do you read newspapers or magazines? Chances are, if you do any of these activities, your pre-school child is on his way to becoming a reader.
The process of learning to read is complex, and one of the most important things to know is that parents can help their children learn to read. As children have conversations with adults, they hear both new and familiar words and their vocabulary grows.
There are many opportunities for adults and children to talk together, such as when riding in the car or in a bus, doing housework like fixing dinner, or bathing and getting ready for bed. A major part of conversation is listening. When children talk, adults listen and respond. Then children listen and respond, and so the flow of conversation happens.
Have you watched you pre-school child pretend to read to his younger sisters or brothers? Have you read his favorite story over and over? These experiences tell children that reading is fun. And when things are fun and they are repeated, your child will see letters. He begins to connect them to familiar words, especially the letters that make up his name. A natural next step for him to take is to write the letters.
When children see parents make a grocery list, they want to use a pencil and paper to make their own list. To encourage these beginning writing activities, have pencils, markers, crayons and scrap paper within your children’s reach.
The more children get connected with talking, listening, reading and writing, the easier it is for them to become active readers. While you as a parent have a big influence on these early behaviors, it is important to remember that opportunities for literacy experiences happen when you and your child share in the basic routines(日常生活)of everyday life.

文章大意:这是一篇说明文。对于我们中的许多人来说,从博物馆里看到的艺术品中获得灵感并不容易。短文介绍了一些关于如何建立有意义的联系的建议。

【推荐3】For many of us, it is not easy to feel inspired by the artworks that we see at museums. Here are some tips on how to create that meaningful connection.

Keep an open mind

Once you are in an art museum, try not to have any ideas about what you’re about to see.     1     . You can love it. You can hate it. Just tell yourself that it’s OK.

Draw personal connections to the art

When you see an artwork, just let your mind wander and follow your thought wherever it leads you.     2     . As a result, a deep connection will happen.

    3

You can increase the chances of finding an art piece you connect with by going to a museum that interests you. If you’re interested in climate change, for example, you may pick a museum that’s showing artworks inspired by Earth conservation.

Really “look at” the art

After you have found an artwork you like, take time to observe it closely. You can take a finger to the air and follow the outline of the figure or the movement of the brushstrokes.     4     .

Keep your museum visit short and focused

Art museums can be huge. So be realistic about how long you can spend at the museum.     5     . After that, it’s hard to stay focused and understand what you’ve seen.

A.Reflect and appreciate
B.You don’t need more than an hour or two
