When you are going to visit Beijing, it’s likely that you’ll want to visit the Tiananmen Square.     1     square is impressively big and is located to the north, separating Beijing from the Forbidden City. The Forbidden City is a breathtaking palace complex (建筑群) that     2    (house) the palace museum and was formally the Chinese royal palace from the Ming dynasty to the end of the Qing dynasty. Covering 178 acres, the Forbidden City is made up of 980 buildings.

The Temple of Heaven, including Lama Temple (Yonghe Temple), the Beijing Temple of Confucius and Beijing Zoo,     3    (recommend) as well. Lama Temple is one of Beijing’s most attractive and best-preserved     4    (temple). The zoo is one of the oldest in China,     5    (date) back to 1906, and is home to a great variety of animals.

The Great Wall isn’t located in the city itself, but if you have made the trip to Beijing, you can’t leave     6     going to see it. Daocheng Yading is located in the Southwest of China’s Sichuan Province. This is a kingdom     1     (surround) by breathtaking views of snow-capped mountains, steep glaciers (冰川), clear lakes and thick woods. It is called the last pure land on this blue planet. Every September, the scenery here is     2     (extreme) attractive. It’s like placing people into a colorful fairy tale world which is beyond     3     (imagine).

There are three mountain peaks in Daocheng Yading. The most beautiful is called Yangmaiyong. It is about 6000 meters     4     height, and has the shape of a perfect pyramid. Back in 1931, the American explorer Joseph Rock first introduced it to the world with     5     (photo) for the National Geographic Magazine. He wrote, “She is the most beautiful snow peak my eyes have ever seen”. Next to it stand two other mountains: Xiannairi and Xianuoduoji. The top of the mountains is covered by snow most of the time. No one     6     (reach) the top up to now. They are called the “Three Holy Mountains”. It is     7     irreplaceably sacred place in the hearts of the local people. “    8     (walk) round the holy mountains three times, you will achieve your wishes for this life,” the locals say. However, it’s such a great challenge to both one’s physical ability and mind because of     9     (it) altitude. What drives them to do that? Perhaps it is simple faith.
