REPTILE PETTING ZOO
at the Oak Park Nature Center
Kids! Are you tired of Mom or Dad dragging you to the same old petting zoos where (if you’re lucky) you might get to touch a little rabbit or goat?
Mom or Dad! Are you tired of hearing your kids complain about how animals in the same old petting zoos are boring?
Consider This:
The fact is that most mammals are boringly warm furry and come in a limited range of dull colors. Reptiles, on the other hand, are cold-blooded and covered with scale (鳞) of attractive colors, from bright green to bright red to dark purple-red. Some, like the chameleon can even CHANGE colors. Did you ever see a rabbit with scales and a purple tongue almost as long as its body? NO! In our zoo, you can see pet skink (小蜥蜴), snakes, bearded dragons and other attractive creatures! Learn what these reptiles eat and how they care for their babies, which ones live in the desert and which live in wetlands, which ones are meat-eaters and which are vegetarians, which ones are deadly poisonous and which are not.
So Remember:
If you’re bored with furry animals like rabbits...
Then the place for YOU is the Reptile Petting Zoo!
Bring the WHOLE family — Grandpa, Grandma, Cousin Irene, even baby Joe! There’s something for EVERYONE!

Cumberland Islands, Georgia
A few hours south of Savannah, this national seashore is a picnic paradise. It’s an unspoiled place in the Deep South with over 50 miles of hiking trail. Covered in Spanish moss (苔藓), the trails are lined with trees and since it’s still a rural area, the stars line up for a spectacular show at night and creates the perfect evening starlit picnic opportunity.
Giant Park, Chicago
If you are looking for delicious food in Chicago, go for a taste of a 20-day, lake-front, foodie festival that happens in October each year. Grab a spot near the fountain to enjoy your picnic, appreciate the city scenery and lake views and relax with family and friends. If you are there on July 4th, be sure to plan the day to include the fireworks display at the Navy Pier.
Cranberry Islands, Maine
Here, you’ll enjoy natural picnics with island views. The islands are a delightful group of islands about 20 minutes offshore from Acadia National Park. You can visit the islands by private boat or ferry service. Bring a picnic basket along for the ride as it’s a romantic picnic area to take your special someone or go for a family outing to visit the islands.
Big Sur, California
The Point Lobos State Reserve is a small gem. Besides the coastal wildlife there are rare plant communities, and unique geological (地质的) formations. It’s good to have a picnic there. We recommend bringing a telescope, because much of the wildlife can be seen only at a distance.

Best time to visit
The best month for sightseeing in Seoul is during the warm weather between summer and early fall.
Getting around
In Seoul, you have three main forms of transportation: train, subway, and taxi. The fastest option to get around Seoul is the Airport Railroad Express train. Seoul has one of the largest subway stations in the world with 14 lines. It may seem a bit awful, but once you get used to it, it’s pretty easy.
Another option to get around Seoul is to rent a car. This is one of the least used options as Seoul has a convenient public transportation system.
