Bring your ideas to life with Coolest Projects
If you like creating things, enjoy coding (编码) and also want to have lots of fun, then Coolest Projects is for you. This online technology exhibition is the number one place for young creators from across the globe to display their projects. It is completely free and for all experience levels, from beginners to advanced coders and everyone in between. You can work by yourself or as a team with up to five friends.
Last year more than 1,600 people from 35 countries took part. The categories range from games, Scratch (a visual programming language and a free online programming site), hardware, mobile apps, web, and advanced programming, so there is something for everyone. Some of the past projects include an electric ukulele (a musical instrument like a small guitar) made from cardboard, a smart rubbish bin, and a video game made entirely in Scratch.
George from the UK saw the exhibition and said it helped him a lot. “I think it’s a really good way to see other people’s projects and I think it has really helped me get a view of how much is involved in building technology.”
By taking part in Coolest Projects you will receive:Personalized feedback (反馈意见) on your project. A spot on the online gallery, where the whole world will see your creation. An invitation to the livestream celebration in December. If you want to enter Coolest Projects, your project doesn’t even need to be finished to be part of the exhibition. If you’re looking for a university with a strong international outlook but feel swept over by all the application options, here is some guidance to get you started.
UK
International students must apply to universities in the UK through a system known as Ucas. This system allows students to apply to up to five universities with just one application. It costs £20 for a single choice or £25 for more than one choice.
The application consists of a series of questions to determine the student’s schooling and predicted grades. The biggest part of the application form is the personal statement, in which applicants should describe their personal interests and related experiences.
Switzerland
Switzerland has four official languages and is bordered by five countries so it is no surprise that its universities are among the most international in the world. International applicants may need to take an entrance exam if they have a foreign school certificate, and must also prove that they have a good grasp of the French language, usually through taking a language exam. The full application costs 50 Swiss Francs for a holder of a Swiss diploma and 150 Swiss Francs for holders of foreign diplomas.
Canada
International applicants have to write up a personal profile as part of their application, which is very similar to the personal statement required for a UK university application. Students will also have to prove their English-language competency—there are nine ways to meet the English Language Admission Standard, which are listed on many university websites.
Singapore
The process of applying to a Singaporean university is very much alike, but overseas students may be delighted to find that the domestic applicants have to cover the same procedures: filling out an online application form and submit identification documents, supporting documents and an application fee of S$20.

Dog Bark Park Inn
If you keep a dog and love animals, then you will definitely become a fan of this hotel. Here visitors will find a microwave oven to prepare a simple meal, games, puzzles and books to entertain themselves, an air conditioner and of course a bath. There is no TV set or a phone though. Dennis Sullivan and Frances Conklin, the designers of this hotel, knew what might attract people. Next time you decide to visit Idaho, take a trip to Cottonwood to see the building.
Das Park Hotel
You will love the place a lot because it is equipped and is perfectly adjusted to basic human needs. However, there is one disadvantage to all these. The matter is that bathroom facilities are not included in the price. Each room here is quite small, but has a bed, electricity and air conditioning.
CasAnus
Read the name of the hotel attentively and you will easily guess what place exactly you are going to spend your vacation in! The hotel is situated in Kemzeke, Belgium and was designed by Joep van Lieshout. Do not say no to this hotel since it is quite comfortable and nice inside.
Hobbit Motel
Deep inside we stay kids forever. This is what the creators of the Hobbit Motel kept in mind when they were creating this motel. Read some more of J.R.R. Tolkien or other books of this kind to fully understand and even feel the atmosphere of the place. The Hobbit Motel is located in Woodlyn Park, New Zealand. It invites visitors all year round. Kevin Erickson owns a 1972 Plymouth Satellite that he renamed “Electrollite” after conversion. Now, the car can go from a still position to 97 kilometers per hour in about three seconds. Its top speed is almost 250 kilometers per hour.
Jonathan Klinger is vice president of car culture for Hagerty Insurance. He said converting classic cars into EVs is “definitely a trend”, although research on the activity is limited. In May, the Michigan-based company did a web-based study of about 25,000 automobile lovers. The top three reasons for converting the vehicles were for better performance, for a fun project, and because of environmental concerns. He doesn’t think electric motors will replace all gas engines. Some car lovers want to keep the sound of older cars' original engines. Electric conversions require special knowledge to complete. They also involve many difficulties like safety concerns. And then there is the price.
Sean Moudry, who co-owns Inspire EV, a small conversion business near Denver, recently worked on a 1965 Ford Mustang. The year-and-a-half-long project cost more than $100,000. Moudry and his partners replaced the gas engine with a motor from a crashed Tesla Model S. He says many people don’t have the resources necessary to carry out this kind of project. As a result, he says, it will take 20 years for electric conversions to become common.
But that reality could be coming sooner than expected, says Mike Spagnola, president and CEO of the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA), a trade group. He said that electric vehicle products took about 1950 square meters of marketing space at SEMA's yearly show in Las Vegas this fall. That was up from only 232 square meters at the 2021 show.

COFFEE PODS(咖啡包)
On average, Australians are using more than three million coffee pods per day, and about 1.5 million households have coffee machines. While the pods are disastrous for the environment, they can still be recycled. Nespresso has a free post-back program and drop-off points run by TerraCycle, so you can take the pods and directly drop off at Nespresso stores.
LIGHT BULBS
Rather than throwing light bulbs into the bin, some councils run specific recycling stations, which allow you to drop off these kinds of items. If you do regularly recycle household glass, remember all glass should be washed and have lids removed.
PIZZA BOXES
Normally, pizza boxes don’t make it into recycling because they’re covered in grease(油脂)and leftover bits of cheese. When a pizza box is too greasy, it won’t be made into a recycling processing plant. If possible, remove as much of the leftovers as you can before recycling. If the pizza box can’t be recycled, tear off the lid which can still be recycled.
HOUSEHOLD BATTERIES
Household batteries can also be recycled. Batteries that do end up in landfills can cause a serious problem to the environment as they can release poisonous chemicals into the soil which are harmful to both humans and animals. Button-cell batteries, which are used in hearing aids and watches, can also be recycled.
