The Yungang Grottoes in Datong, Shanxi Province,     1     UNESCO World Heritage Site, have 45major caves and more than 59,000 Buddha statues, with a grotto complex about 1 km long from east to west.

    2    (current), a giant 3D printing reproduction of Cave No.3 at the Yungang Grottoes is     3     display at the Yungang Grottoes Art Museum in Qingdao, east China’s Shandong Province. This is the first time in the world that 3D printing technology     4    (use) to reproduce such a large-scale cultural relic.

The identical reproduction strictly matches the     5    (appear) and scale of the original. The copy of the cave measures 17.9 meters tall by 13.6 meters wide, while the main Buddha stands at 9.93 meters tall.

During the replication process, 3D technicians first     6    (collect) some 10, 000 images of the cave and the Buddha to build up a digital model,     7     was then divided into 842 parts to be printed with multiple 3D printers. The final installation（安装） and coloring stages took the team three months     8    (complete).

The reproduction not only allows people to get much     9    (close) to the precious heritage items without damaging the original objects, but also helps to enhance the research, documentation, digitalization and preservation of the     10    (relic) themselves.

Peggy Whitson, 57, has returned to Earth after     1     (stay) for more than nine months aboard the International Space Station. Whitson,     2     became an astronaut in 1996, was the first woman     3     (command) the space station and also the first woman and first non-pilot who serves as chief of the NASA Astronaut Corps.

Like many of my generation, I have a weakness for hero worship. At some point, however, we all begin to question our heroes and our need for them. This leads us     1     (ask): What is a hero?

Henry Norman Bethune who was born in 1890 was a Canadian doctor with a very creative mind and     1    (determine) to help people. As a small boy he became very interested in medicine and decided to become a doctor after     2     (graduate) from medical college in 1916. Bethune worked as a doctor in England, the US and Canada. He reinvented or redesigned over 10 medical instruments to make them     3     (useful) than ever.
