On Sept 17^th, Lang Ping, the head coach of China’s national women’s volleyball team, arrived at my high school. I could taste the excitement in the atmosphere on that quiet Saturday morning. At about 9 o'clock, all the Senior 3 students gathered in the school hall,     1     (wait) for the arrival of Lang Ping and her team. The moment Lang     2     (walk) into the stadium, we clapped     3     (excited). Lang shared her life with us in her speech. She said it was faith and courage that had led her    4     success step by step.

As a Senior 3 student, we are likely to come across many difficulties,     5     often makes us think we’ll never get through our hardships. However, sometimes not the success    6     the process is the most important. We should hold fewer negative thoughts and work harder     7     (achieve)our goals.

Chinese teenager Quan Hongchan won the gold medal for the women’s 10-meter platform diving at the Tokyo Olympic Games on Thursday.

Quan is the youngest of 431 athletes    1    China sent to Tokyo for the Olympics. If the Games had gone on as scheduled last summer, she would have been too young    2    (meet) the minimum age (14) to compete in the diving competition. Now, she’s made Olympic history.

Each of Quan’s dives was the highest of the five rounds of competition at the 10-meter platform. Two scored perfect 10s from all seven    3    (judge). Only one judge found a flaw (瑕疵) with her final dive,    4    (award) her a 9.5 next to six 10s. But it didn't count, because    5    diving’s scoring system. The two highest and two    6    (low) scores are thrown out and multiplied by the dive’s degree of difficulty.     7    (eventual), only the three middle 10s counted on her final dive and    8    (add) up 96 when multiplied by the 3.2 degree of difficulty.

As a player, Lang Ping brought honour and glory to her country. As a coach, Lang Ping     1    (lead) her volleyball team to Olympic gold in Brazil in 2016.
