“Not only is it okay to not feel ‘okay’. it is essential.” Dr. Zuckerman, a licensed clinical psychologist, said. So crying after you get into a fight with your partner is also normal. as is feeling anxious and scared about an uncertain future. When we think we might lose something we care about, that’s sad.     1     . We should let ourselves, and other people in our lives, feel these things as they come up.

You may feel you’re being supportive by sending positive affirmations to a friend who is going through a difficult time.     3     . Your positive affirmations create the idea that your friend is in some way incapable of handling their feelings.

When you’re lending an car to someone in distress, Dr. Zuckerman suggests avoiding phrases like: It’ll be fine.     4     . What’s there to cry about? Instead, she suggests using phrases that affirm the other persons feelings and lets them know you are here to support them without expectation: It is okay to not feel okay right now. You’re allowed to feel this way.

文章大意:这是一篇说明文。文章主要介绍了一种名为The MicroMOVEment Wheel的方法可以让人坚持写日记。
【推荐1】

Recently, I carried out an investigation to discover what it was that prevented people from journalling.     1     So, today, I want to introduce a very simple tool—The MicroMOVEment Wheel. It will help you pick up your journal even at times when you really don’t feel like it.

2     She describes creating this method so she could use it as a creative planning tool for her writing projects and goals. While it was originally aimed at writers, you can use this technique to help you complete any project in a fun and creative way.

3     Here’s how it works. Take a blank sheet of paper and: draw a large circle, and then another smaller circle in the middle. In the centre circle, write down what you are inspired to achieve. Remember, journalling does not need to feel like a chore in your day. So come up with descriptions for your journalling that are inspiring and energising.     4     These are what SARK refers to as the MicroMOVEments. Each MicroMOVEment is five minutes in length. So, in the case of journalling, that would represent a minimum of up to five minutes of journalling in one sitting, on any given day.

Let’s say you’ re new to journalling. By setting aside five minutes out of your day, you could write one word in your notebook that sums up a feeling or an experience.     5     The idea of the MicroMOVEment is to create easy steps to get your journal writing or writing projects moving. When you keep the steps small, it will become doable and achievable.

A.Next, divide the rest of the circle into eight equal parts.
B.It is the brainchild of international bestselling writer SARK.
C.There are no hard-and-fast rules when it comes to journalling.
D.Where to start and not having enough time were amongst the top responses.
E.Daily tasks such as sweeping and washing are time-consuming and laborious.
F.Then, list any associated words, images or thoughts that are generated by the word.
G.The medicine with this approach is breaking your actions down into the tiniest steps.

文章大意:本文是一篇说明文。文章介绍了白手起家的百万富翁告诉他们的孩子关于财富的几点事情。

【推荐2】How do parents teach children about money? How do you teach them to get rich? Likely, you do not have an answer because you would not call yourself rich.     1     Here is what self-made millionaires tell their kids about wealth.

You deserve to have wealth.

This statement could be read as arrogant (傲慢的), when in fact it comes from a place of humbleness. Self-made millionaires teach their children that they deserve to be rich not because they were born into the right family but because they work hard to solve other people’s problems.     2

    3

Having money gets rid of tons of the issues which people find themselves in when they do not have it. Not happy with your current living situation? You can pack up and leave. Do you hate your job? Why not start your own business? Upset about a global disaster? Donate what you can to the cause. Money allows you to enjoy life on your own terms.

Nothing is guaranteed.

4     They must create their own lives and futures. It’s important to teach kids about self-reliance. Legally, kids have the right to have more and more things, but it’s important to teach against these values.

Solve problems to earn your wealth.

In a free market economy, everyone is looking for a way to make money. If you come up with an idea to solve the world’s problem, there will be a demand for it. The bigger the problem, the more difficulty you might have getting it off the ground.     5     Pairing your skills at problem solving could be the way towards wealth.

A.Wealth leads to freedom.
B.Even the blind can see money.
C.But it could also make you very rich.
D.How do the rich approach this question?
E.When do you start teaching your children about money?
F.Having wealth allows you to do something for others to earn your place.
G.A big lesson self-made millionaires teach their kids is that the world owes them nothing.

文章大意:本文是一篇说明文。讲述了阅读经典文学作品的一些方法。

【推荐3】Classic literature (文学作品) includes older works that have experienced the test of time and that are still widely read today. Whether you’re a student or just an eager reader hoping to explore classic literature, you may be wondering where to begin.

Read summaries of what the work is about. You can find descriptions or summaries of classic works of literature online.     1     Knowing a bit about the plot (情节), characters, and setting may make it easier for you to follow and understand the writing when you begin reading.

2     Even if you struggle with the text, it is important to stick with it. After sticking with it for a while, the language, setting, and characters may start to become more familiar to you.

If you’re trying to gain a better understanding of a difficult text, underlining passages may not be enough. Instead, try making comments or notes in the margins (页边空白).     3

After you finish a chapter, write a brief summary of everything important that happened. Make sure you address the major plot points, how those points influence each character, and how that chapter fits into the context of the larger book.     4     This will help test your understanding of what you’ve read.

After you finish reading a book, it may be useful to learn about what others have learned from the text.     5     You can read commentary and critical (批判性的) analyses of the book online. These often have information on themes, symbols, characters, and more, which may help you think about the book on a deeper level.
