Many are sharing their game results on social media, adding more interest in the game. Here are other games that help learners with different subjects.
Mathematics
British data scientist Richard Mann of London was talking with his daughter about the popularity of Worlle. He thought there should be a game for people who like mathematics and developed Nerdle. It’s a daily game in which a player has six tries to guess a math solution.
Math teachers note that a Nerdle player uses logic, a careful way of thinking about something, to solve a math problem. It’s similar to how a Wordle player applies logic to guessing a word.
Geography
French video game developer Antoine Teuf invented Worldle in honor of that word game, Wordle.
Players guess a country based on its shape. They get six tries to guess a country based on information about the country. Teuf first shared the game on January 22. He said there would be two million visits a day to the game’s page a month later.
English
Teachers of English see word games as a useful way for students to learn new words. Such word games include Blooket and Flippity.
Teachers create quizzes in Blooket similar to the kinds of games students play on mobile devices. They can look at results and see areas that students can improve.
In Flippity, teachers can create flash cards, rewards, spelling quizzes, memory games and word searches from a simple Google spreadsheet. It’ s also a good tool for students to create their own projects.

That afternoon, my dad had stood on the deck (露台) of our home and laughed as our neighbors packed up their cars and headed inland. They left to spend the night in motels or at friends’ homes that were out of range of approaching summer storm.
Challenging the weather that threatened to damping our spirits, we lit a fire on the beach. Dad told jokes and we had a good time. When it was 6:30 p.m., all laughter disappeared. Our eyes were drawn to the sky. A tornado (龙卷风) was headed straight for us! In a flash, we were all on our feet. The wind started screaming and now we were running to the cottage. My mom stopped next to the front door. “Where can we go?” She shouted at my dad.
Most cottages on this part of Lake Michigan had been built without basements. Ours was no exception. The huge windows and the cottage itself wouldn’t offer safety from high wind.
“Follow me!” my dad yelled. We crawled (爬) beneath the deck, pressing ourselves against the foundation of the cottage. Between the deck supports, we watched the approaching storm in silent terror.
My dad shouted, “Hold on!” and something else I couldn’t hear over the screaming wind. I think he was praying. By the time it reached our cottage, it was nothing more than a strong wind. The rest of the storm lasted for an hour and then simply blew away.
“Next time, we’ll stay inland at Grandma’s. Okay?” my dad said.

As I was still deciding, there came a man selling culture shoes and started showing them to me. I just smiled and said thank you. I didn’t know if it was the smile or what but the young man stepped closer and started talking to me.
“You know I didn’t just end up like this. I had a family but one day life just turned upside down and all was gone,” he said. In short, his wife stole all his money, sold his car and house. It was really a hard time for him and he was psychologically anguished. A lot happened and then he decided to pick up the pieces of his life and try to make ends meet. So he started making culture shoes and selling them to earn a living.
As I stood there listening to his story, I was still surprised how in the world someone can be so open to a total stranger.
You see, a lot of times we meet people and most of them have difficulties in their life. Some of them don’t have a person to listen to them, so I’ve learned to be good to people and always give them time to listen to what they want to say. By doing this, I not only help that person get relieved (宽慰) but also learn something from them and see the other side of life. This will make the world a better place to live for all of us.
