Camberwell College Swimming Pools
Camberwell College of Arts has one 50m (Olympic sized) pool with a depth of 2m throughout, and one 25m pool with a 1m shallow end and a 4m deep end. Both pools may be used by the general public at certain times.
50m Pool
The pool is often used for classes, but the general public may use two lanes（泳道）for lane swimming at the following times.
Monday: 06:30-11:30 and 19:00-21:00
Tuesday: 06:30-11:30 and 18:00-21:00
Wednesday: 06:30-13:30 and 17:30-21:30
Thursday: 06:30-13:30
Friday: 06:30-13:30
Weekends: 09:00-17:00
Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

25m Pool
The 25m pool is available for recreational (non-lane) swimming from 07:00-09:00 and 12:30-13:30 on weekdays, and 10:00-16:00 on Saturdays.
Children aged 12 and under must be accompanied.
We regret that the 25m pool will be closed for redecoration between 21st July and 18th August. The men’s changing rooms will be closed for the week beginning 19th August, and the women’s changing rooms will be closed the following week. Alternative（可选用的）changing rooms will be made available. We’re sorry for this.

The Bell Tower
The Bell Tower is 47.9 meters high. This brick-and-stone-made building has two floors. Located on the second floor, the bell is the largest and heaviest in China. It is 7.02 meters high, with a weight of 63 tons (吨). It was made of copper (铜), and you can hear its clear sound from far away.
The Drum Tower
Standing 91 meters south to the Bell Tower, it was placed on a 4-meter-high stone and brick groundwork. It is 46.7 meters high. It is a two floor wooden building. There was one big drum and 24 smaller ones before, but only the big one remains now.
On New Year’s Eve 1990， the bell was rung again and the drum was rung on New Year’s Eve 2001 after being silent for so long. Since then, the drum and the bell have sounded 108 times every New Year’s Eve.

This is one of my favourite films of all time and I would watch it all year round if I could. It tells the story of a boy, Kevin, who is left alone in his house when his large family forget to take him on vacation. While the family are away, burglars (窃贼) try to break into the house and Kevin must protect his home by setting traps. The trips, falls and traps will have you laughing out loud as you watch a 10-year-old boy outsmart two grown men.
4. Miracle on 34th Street (1994)
You can’t have Christmas in an English-speaking country without watching this film. It’s not funny like Home Alone or The Grinch, but it is really touching. It’s about a man who says he is Santa Claus, but nobody believes him except a lawyer and a little girl. The storyline may seem a little childish but you can enjoy it at any age.

Gwent Police have abandoned colors such as grays and browns of the 20th-century police cell and have used color psychology to decorate them.
Ystrad Mynach station, which recently opened at a cost of E5 million，has four cells with glass doors for prisoners who suffer from claustrophobia（幽闭恐怖症）. Designers have painted the frames yellow, which researchers say is a calming color. Other cells contain a royal blue line because psychologists believe that the color is likely to encourage truthfulness.
The station has 31 cells, including 12 with a “live scan” system for drunken or disturbed prisoners which detects the rise and fall of their chest. An alarm alerts officers if a prisoner's breathing stops and carries on ringing until the door is opened.
Designers and psychologists have worked for years on color. Blue is said to suggest trust, efficiency, duty, logic, coolness, thinking and calm. It also suggests coldness and unfriendliness. It is thought that strong blues will stimulate clear thought and lighter, soft colors will calm the mind and aid concentration.
Yellow is linked with confidence, self-respect and friendliness. Get the color wrong and it could cause fear, depression and anxiety, but the right yellow can lift spirits and self-respect.
Ingrid Collins, a psychologist who specializes in the effects of color，said that color was an “energy force”,. She said: “Blue does enhance communication but I am not sure it would enhance truthful communication.”
Yellow, she said, affected the mind. Red, on the other hand, should never be considered because it could increase aggression. Mrs. Collins praised the designers for using colors in the cells. Gwent is notthe first British force to experiment with color to calm down or persuade prisoners to co-operate. In the 1990s Strathclyde Police used pink in cells based on research carried out by the US Navy.
