A taste of Thailand
The food here was beyond amazing, and the staff were incredibly kind and attentive. Unfortunately, we were just visiting the area for the weekend, but if we lived nearby, we’d go back in a heartbeat. As a starter, we had veggie summer rolls, which were out of this world! For main, we had the chicken green curry, which was so fresh and bursting with flavour. If I could give this place 6 stars, I would! Highly recommended.
Efes Cuisine
Wow! A little geml
Just had a yummy lunch with some friends. I love tapas, and this didn’t disappoint. We sat upstairs at a cosy table in the corner. Fab atmosphere, and Dani was a lovely waiter. We shared a selection of dishes, which arrived quickly and were tasty. The desserts were even better. The chocolate cheesecake was particularly delicious. Great value for money.
Daisy’s Steakhouse
A big let down!
I’d read some good reviews online but it didn’t live up to the praise. We got there at 8.15pm, and we had to wait for more than 20 minutes. Then, once we sat down, we were told we’d have to leave the table by 9:30pm. Once we’d ordered, the food arrived quickly, but the steak was extremely tough, inedible, to be honest and the sauce was bad. We won’t be going back, which is a shame because it’s stylishly decorated and our waitress was friendly. The wine was good, too, if a little pricey!
Vegan Heaven
Yes yes yes! Vegan heaven!
We went to this traditional American diner for the first time last night, and we’ll definitely be back for more. It’s really family friendly, and as soon as we walked through the door, the waiters were extremely attentive and made us feel at ease. High chairs, colouring pens and paper for the kids, etc. Portions were generous, and the barbecue burger was one of the best I’ve ever had! Good value for money, too. Definitely worth a visit!

What to bring: A portable (便携的) stove to turn snow into your drinking water.
Mount Kilimanjaro: 19,341 feet

Mary started bringing them food, and gradually they began to trust her. She managed to put a hat on a squirrel and take a picture. Thinking that her friends could use something to lift their spirits, she started posting those photos on Facebook. The response(回应)was greatly positive, and before long Mary and her squirrels became very famous on the Internet.
Growing up in a neighbourhood outside State College, Mary was always fond of birds and animals around her home, but she didn't communicate with people very much. She was later diagnosed(诊断)with Asperger's syndrome(埃斯伯格综合征),but the squirrels changed that. “Being together with the squirrels is actually a good way to break the ice, because I'll be sitting here touching a squirrel and other people will come over and we'll just start like feeding the squirrels together and chatting about them," she said. “I am a lot more outgoing.
Perhaps you're wondering how Mary is able to get the squirrels to do what she wants for her photos. Actually, it has a lot to do with food. For example, whenever she wants them to hold or play with something, she puts peanut butter on a plate, and they'll grab(抓住)it. But getting to that part took a while. In the beginning, she would throw peanuts up the trees on campus and invite the squirrels to come down and get them, but they didn't want to approach(接近)her. She had the patience to earn their trust, though.
This year, Mary graduated with a degree in wildlife science. She wants to be a science writer and educate people about how to protect the environment. As for her furry friends, Mary plans to stay in the area and visit them as often as she can.

Employers like to hire people for part-time jobs, as they often do not require them to hand out benefits. My first official part-time job was working at my community college as a writing and English tutor.
I still got poor grades in English and writing in high school. It was only in college that I began to flourish (起色) with a pen and paper. By my second year of college, I was often getting “A” grades or hearing praise from my professors. I think this transformation happened due to my enthusiasm for written word, and this excitement assisted me in overcoming my difficulties.
What astonished me most in my part-time job was that the ESL (English as a second language) students were often better writers than the native people I tutored. I think this was due to the fact that they seriously studied English grammar, punctuation and composition, whereas the native speakers took English for granted. What also surprised me was how people-friendly I could be. In high school, I was mostly a loner, and found comfort in books, my chess board and my computer. But in college, I became increasingly outgoing through my job.
I believe this experience is not only a great step forward towards full-time office work, but it’s also taught me that I love teaching and interacting with people of various backgrounds. In addition, I’ve learned the joy of working around my own schedule. Through having several part-time jobs, I can say that this type of work allows one to be happier, healthier, and have a better outlook on one’s assignments.

Long ago the Indians called this place “Tomesha”— the land of fire. Death Valley’s present name dates back to 1849, when a group of miners coming from Nevada became lost in its unpleasantness and hugeness and their adventure turned out to be a sad story. Today Death Valley has been called a National Monument (遗迹) and is crossed by several well-marked roads where good services can be found easily. Luckily the change created by human settlement has scarcely (几乎没有) ruined the special beauty of this place.
Here nature created a lot of surprising sights, almost like the sights on the moon, ever-changing as the frequent (频繁的) wind moves the sand about, showing the most unusual colors. One of the most astonishing and changeable parts of Death Valley is the Devil’ s Golf Course, where it seems hard for one to tell reality from terrible dreams.
