This craze(一时的狂热)for skiing is partly due to the fact that there has been an increasing number of private cars.Leisure industry has taken off in Beijing's suburbs, which were unreachable to ordinary people at first. One manager of a ski resort said that most visitors drove their own cars to his resort, while the others took buses rented by schools, businesses or government offices.
The craze seems to make huge profits for resort owners. But,according to the manager, making money is yet the biggest challenge, since starting and running ski resorts require a large amount of money.Hiring land from the local government, preparing the hills for skiing, buying enough snow-making machines, renting ski equipment and paying for water and electronic bills all cost a lot.
The ski resort where the manager works costs nearly four million dollars to get everything read. What makes things worse is that too many people want a share in the leisure industry.People rush into the business and a price war breaks out, which in turn makes it more difficult for resort owners to balance. But this is good news for consumers.Beijing now offers some of the cheapest ski training classes in the world. It also helps skiing continue its growth since the low price is likely to attract more newcomers.

Hosting can be burdensome. Being clear about your purpose beforehand can ease some of that burden. It can also give guests a clear picture of the event ahead of time, so that they can decide for themselves whether or not to come.
A purpose doesn’t have to be serious.
Think about your guest list
When it comes to deciding the specific people to invite, there can be a lot of anxiety.
For starters, group size matters. It can fundamentally affect people’s behavior, and there’s actual science to it, too.
Connect your guests
Groups are composed of many different identities. Every time any group is getting together, the role of a host is to set up a context, where each person, regardless of their many identities, can find a way in.
A.Put the list in your invitations |
B.Give the gathering a specific purpose |
C.Six to seven is a good size for a really connected conversation |
D.It can be catching up with old friends or celebrating a birthday |
E.It’s all about striking a balance between warmth and amazing food |

I have to travel every day from Souk Road to the airport. Two buses travel along their route: the number 49 and number 16. But by the time the number 16 bus reaches Souk Road it is always full, so I can’t get on it. I have to wait for the number 49, because sometimes there are empty seats on it.
The timetable says that there are buses from Souk Road to the airport every ten minutes. If this is so, why do I have to wait half an hour for a bus nearly every day?
The regulations (规章) say that if there are empty seats on a bus, the bus must stop at every stop where people are waiting. Why do the half-empty buses go straight past me when I am standing at the bus stop?
The regulations say that no bus may carry more than 40 seated passengers and 20 standing passengers. Yesterday I was the first to get off the bus when it reached the airport. I counted the other passengers as they got off. There were 129 of them.
It is clear that our bus companies break the regulations and think little of their passengers. Can nothing be done to make your service better?
Yours,
Tired passenger

【推荐1】When I was a boy, my parents and I traveled from New York City to the Pennsylvania countryside for a week-long taste of rural life. We stayed in guest house on a farm, joining the daily routine and eating meals with the farmer and his family. We got up early to the cows as they were milked. I even tried my hand at milking one, and then joined the farmer as he released the cows into the field afterwards.
Decades later I still have vivid memories of that trip which made me realize the value of a vacation, seeing new things, meeting new people and sharing memorable experiences with family members. To this day, I still consider that family trip when I plan to take time off with my wife and kids. Vacations are a time for resting and connecting. As a bank manager, I spent much of my workday encouraging my customers to save their money. One of the reasons give is that we should all have enough money for family vacation every year. In our busy lives, family is what we should save our money and time for.
For my family, our vacation starts when we begin planning the trip. We talk about destinations and our budget ahead of time. Among the things we discuss: Can we save money by renting a house instead of spending six nights in a hotel Would it be better to buy groceries and good for ourselves rather than eat out every night? Involving the kids in planning the vacation makes sure that they have a great vacation too. I prefer to visit historical sites and museums while they love to fish and swim. So build in some relaxation time for us all so that the vacation can work for everyone.
Each year, setting aside vacation time to spend together is especially important to us. A relaxing environment opens door to all kinds of conversations---deep, silly or meaningful. There is no pleasure from the usual everyday tasks. What matters is that everyone is having a great time.

Perhaps you've already had one, but weren't clear what it was called. Staycations don't just mean staying in doing things around the house or just relaxing at home. They are related to getting out more by taking day trips from your home to see local sights. If you don't want to stay at home, you can holiday locally — for example, camping at a local campground.
Staycations originally became popular after the 2008 financial crisis, when people were looking for ways to reduce their spending. Apart from the savings, let's not ignore the other benefits: you don't have any of the problems associated with travel, such as packing, long drives, delays at airports and so on.
Some staycationers who base themselves at home like to follow a set of rules, such as setting the start and end date, planning their activities ahead of time and avoiding routine(惯例). You don't have to do so, but it helps to create the feel of a traditional vacation. Others, who are aware that an extra barbecue or a visit to the local zoo may not match the thrill of foreign travel, take it a step further.
A New Yorker, Karen Ash, decided not to go to Japan, as she had planned, but instead took a weeklong Japanese vacation in her own city. This included buying postcards and souvenirs at a Japanese market, admiring bonsai plants, attending a taiko drumming concert and watching Japanese soap operas on DVD. I don't think many people would want to take this much trouble to create their staycation, but you get the idea!
