Technology is forever changing the way we get our news. Many people now get a lot of their news on electronic devices, instead of traditional media, such as newspapers, television or radio. Now, there is a new way we get the news: computer-created news readers.

Recently, China's Xinhua launched (推出) the world's first AI news presenters with the Chinese search engine Sogou. The news readers created by machine learning technology are based on two real-life newsmen. One is able to present newscasts in English; the other, in Mandarin Chinese.

One Xinhua's report said machine learning was used to examine video images and sounds of the two newsmen, which look and sound like real people.

Some machine learning experts said the system showed off China's latest progress in voice recognition, text-to-speech technology and data analysis. But several experts suggested that the term AI does not correctly describe abilities of the robotic news readers.

On social media, many Chinese noted that the AI presenters did not seem real. People blamed them for not being more lifelike. Others wondered about the effects robots might have on employment and workers. Some people argued that only low-level jobs requiring heavy labor will be easily replaced by robots. Others praised the technology as a way for companies to make money from low-cost labor machines.

Some businesses have experimented with similar technology for possible use in news operations. Britain's BBC recently released a video that used machine learning to make it look like one of its news readers speaking different languages. The London-based company that developed the system says its goal is to "remove the language barrier" for many different kinds of video across the Internet.

A.To keep AI presenters from making any mistakes.
B.To make AI presenters speak more fluently.
C.To ensure images and sounds are like real persons.
D.To bring newscasts up to date every hour.
3. What are some people worried about when AI presenters were launched?
A.Robots will eventually replace human all over.
B.Robots may threaten some people's employment.
C.Robots may endanger most people's health.
D.Robots will rule over the world in the end.
4. From the last paragraph we know that______.
A.BBC has removed the language barrier in newscasts
B.BBC's news readers can speak different languages
C.BBC shows interest in Xinhua's AI news presenters
D.BBC has done similar experiments as Xinhua does

Compared with 5G technology, 6G will have lower latency, higher speed and more bandwidth. And this advanced technology will help connect the real world with virtual digital world. It will also make product design R&D(Research and development) and experiments significantly more efficient and greatly reduce their costs while making it possible to produce digital products. In the physical world through high-tech, including 3D printing. The seamless and intelligent connection of the physical and digital worlds will lead to a thorough reconstruction of the division of labor and societal cooperation.

In terms of economic development, 3G fostered e-commerce while 4G boosted e-commerce and mobile payment. 5G infrastructure building and application marked the beginning of intelligent manufacturing. Similarly, wireless cognition technology associated with 6G technology, once it matures, will further boost the development of the digital economy. In digital economy, intelligence based on big data will become the real force for innovation and 6G networks not only will be highways for transmitting data, but will also much more seamlessly integrate edge and core computing as part of a combined communications. Jeff Bezos Reveals His No. 1 Leadership Secret

Amazon has reached what its founder and CEO Jeff Bezos called "an interesting milestone.” The retailing giant so highly associated with books and then music and video, now has tens of millions of products in stock and a majority are non-media goods, from drills to tennis balls to almost anything else that can be shipped.

1     The 48-year-old has officially transformed Amazon, which he founded in 1994, from an online bookstore that sells other stuff to a retailer---and business services provider---that once sold mostly books. Amazon's stock is up 397 percent in the last five years.

So, what's behind the success of the world’s largest online retailer?     2     Bezos regularly leaves one seat open at meetings and informs all attendees that they should consider that seat occupied by their customer---the most important person in the room.

Always trying to find out what customers want, Bezos is even stricter about that customers don’t want. They hate delays, defects and out-of-stock products, so the company constantly looks to make them as rare as possible.     3     Amazon data show that a 0.1 second delay in page loading can translate into a one percent drop in customer activity.

But great customer service doesn’t fully explain Amazon's extraordinary success. For Bezos,a

data driven customer focus encourages him to take risks to innovate. Amazon's kindle, for example, came into being because Bezos believed millions would want an e-book reader that could download any book within 60 seconds.     4     Engineers were free to solve technical challenges as they saw fit, only needing to make it right for consumers.

Efficiency ---- cheapness, in the eyes of Amazon’s critics---is also an important part of the Amazon culture. In fact, Bezos liks the two. In 2009, Bezos declared that Amazon had begun fighting against waste. The more he could get rid of needless costs, the easier it would be to deliver rock-bottom prices to customers.

A.That turning point might be Bezos' greatest accomplishment
B.Amazon executives would tell you: the empty chair, the internal nickname of the figure that rule their lives.
C.Bezos could have done it earlier but he took over twenty years to compete that target
D.Even the tiniest delay in loading a web-page isn’t insignificant
E.Customers do enjoy quick delivery, quality products and great after-sales service.
F.He set that target without getting pinned down by technical issues.

【推荐3】China Merchants Bank Co Ltd has teamed up with ride-hailing major Didi Kuaidi to provide automobile financing and expand its reach in China’s booming mobile payment industry.
The two have inked a comprehensive partnership, which includes a strategic investment by the former in the latter. Under the partnership, CMB will become the first bricks-and-mortar bank that can offer in-app credit card payments to Didi users. At present, users of Didi can only choose third-party payment solutions like WeChat Payment and Alipay to pay cab fares.
Zhao Ju, vice-president of CMB, said the cooperation with Didi was an important step in its mobile Internet finance strategy. “CMB’s mobile payment is going to enter a new chapter by leveraging Didi Kuaidi’s vast user base,” he said.
According to a report by China Internet Network Information Center earlier this month, Didi holds 87.2 percent of China’s private car hailing market. The company said it has received 1.43 billion car-hailing requests on its platforms in 2015, which means 1.43 billion payments were made via smartphones.
CMB is expected to use Didi to reach the core users of China’s mobile payment market. Jean Liu, president of Didi, said many of the expats prefer payment by credit card rather than Alipay or WeChat. “The new partnership will help improve service quality and customer loyalty,” she said. The investment makes CMB part of Didi’s existing investors, including Tencent Holdings Ltd, Alibaba Group Holding Ltd and China Investment Corporation. Both of the companies declined to reveal the actual amount of the investment.
Liu, who showed up on Tuesday for the first time in public after her treatment for breast cancer, said the cooperation with CMB is for the long run and “the capital investment is only part of it”.
Under the partnership, CMB and Didi will cooperate on a wide range of initiatives on financial services and online-to-offline cooperation. Apart from the in-app credit card payments, the two companies are going to launch joint credit cards in late February and automobile financing services for Didi’s car owners. CMB’s branches across China are expected to help Didi recruit more drivers.
“There is a lot of room for imagination in our partnership,” Li said, adding in future people may use their CMB credit card reward points to pay for the ride on Didi.
Li Chao, an analyst with iResearch Consulting Group, said the partnership may not significantly boost CMB’s mobile payment business. “Didi has educated the market for three years and its customers have formed the habit of paying by WeChat or Alipay. So I think CMB can only turn a very smart proportion of Didi users into its payment customer,” he said. “But the move shows that China’s traditional banking industry is finally thinking out of the box and looking for outside partners in Internet finance competition,” he said.
Statistics from Big-Data Research showed that more than 90 percent of China’s 9.3 trillion yuan ($1.41 trillion) worth of third party mobile payment market is donated by Alibaba and Tencent.
1. Which of the following is not the purpose of CMB’s cooperation with Didi?
A.CMB is expected to use Didi to reach the core users of China’s mobile payment market.
B.Through the cooperation with Didi, CMB will help improve service quality and customer loyalty.
C.CMB will launch joint credit cards with Didi to expand its service.
D.CMB will turn a very large proportion of Didi users into its payment customer.
2. What can be inferred from the passage?
A.CMB’s mobile payment is going to enter a new chapter.
B.China’s traditional banking industry is facing fierce Internet finance competition.
C.CMB and Didi will have an online-to-offline cooperation.
D.The majority of Didi users will pay by CMB in-app credit card.
3. What’s Li Chao’ attitude towards the partnership between CMB and Didi?
A.cautious.B.positive.
C.indifferent.D.disapproving.
4. The main idea of this passage is that ________.
A.CMB develops partnership with Didi Kuaidi
B.CMB is looking for outside partners in Internet finance competition
C.Didi Kuaidi is going to enter a new chapter
D.Alibaba and Tencent dominate the mobile payment market
