Hello, my name is Goldie. I am not a pet. I have a very important job. I work as a seeing-eye dog. People call us seeing-eye dogs because we are the “eye” of blind people and help them to “see”.

It is not easy to become a seeing-eye dog. It takes a lot of hard work and training. The training is difficult and most dogs cannot do it.

My job is to work with my partner, Jim. Jim is blind. We live and work in London. London is a very busy city. I help Jim get around — along busy streets, across roads and on trains and buses every day.

I enjoy my job and I am proud of what I do. I think Jim is proud of me, too. You can always see him smiling.
