Chen Lin is a member of Chongqing Volunteer Service. She often does many _______ for others on weekends. These days the service is helping Mrs. Liu, an old lady. 1. The orphanage (孤儿院). We will go to the orphanage on Saturday morning. You can bring some flowers or some interesting books. If you can sing or dance, that will be better.

2. The library. We will help move books from the old library to the new one on Sunday afternoon. It seems boring but it really helps the librarians a lot.

3. The park. We will go to the park on Sunday morning. We will take out some rubbish and water the trees. We can have free bread and some bottles of water.

Today we find that school students hardly spend much time on sports. Is it because they aren't interested in sports? No, they often say they have other more important things to do.

What are these important things? Exams! They have to spend much time on all kinds of exams at school. So many of them almost become bookworms（书呆子）. Books stop them from going out for sports. Because of the pressure from their parents and teachers, the students have to work harder and spend most of their time on books. As for the students, they want to get good results so that they can improve their studies. So it is necessary for them to give all of their free time to their studies and stop their school sports.

In fact, education can't go without enough exercise, because a quick mind hardly goes along with a weak body. If you don't have a strong body you can never get anything or any great success in your life.

As a volunteer teacher, I traveled a long way to a small village school in Long Zhou, Guangxi. On my way there, I     41     (think) about the village, the school, and the children there. However, my heart sank（下沉）when I arrived there. It wasn’t what I expected. It didn’t look     42     a school at all! The school had only three rooms, one for Grades 1, 2, and 3, and the other for Grades 4, 5 and 6. There was a third one for me.
