English families are usually small. The members of the family are simply—Mum, Dad and the children. They don’t live together with their grandparents or unmarried（未结婚的）aunts or uncles. And all the members in the family are very kind to each other. In the evenings, they often like to drink tea and watch TV.

English people love their homes and families their gardens and pets. They have all kinds of pets, such as dogs, cats and goldfish. They treasure（珍惜）friendship, too. They often invite their friends to dinner, but in a rather formal（正式）way. Yet they don’t like people to drop in without an invitation. If invited to an English home, you get a cup of tea. Remember never refuse（拒绝）to drink tea when asked to.

English women are an important part of the country. Besides doing housework, homemakers take part in social（社交的）activities. As they are much more independent（独立）today, they can marry（嫁给）men they like and take up the jobs on their own wish.

Children are better cared for and far healthier. As soon as they leave school, they start their studies or jobs. They have government’s grants（助学金）which are enough for their keep. But they still stay with their parents a lot. They seem very close to them.

Different people may have different dreams. For me, I want to be a police-woman when I g    47     up. I’ve had my dream s    48     I was young. Policewomen are very cool. It’s quite i    49     for them to have a strong and healthy body. But I like eating, I seldom do exercise, so I am a little overweight.

It’s t    50     for me to change my diet and lifestyle. I will not eat junk food and something like that with too much sugar, although they can give me lots of energy (能量). The more I eat, the f    51     I will be. Of course, you know, doing some exercise is a    52     very necessary for me to keep fit. This is what I want to be. What a    53     you?

The Shanghai Expo Park is 5.28 km². There are about 170 pavilions (展馆) in the park. Join us on our tip to some of them. We hope it will help you to find the places you are interested in.

The Chinese Pavilion

It is the largest pavilion in the park. The huge red building has three parts about China’s history, China’s ancient architecture (建筑) and China’s future. You can see an 8-minute movie about the changes in Chinese cities over the past 30 years.

The Germany Pavilion

Want to see what life is like in a German city? Go to the city tunnel! The scent of flowers and the singing of birds will make you feel like you are in a German park. If you visit “Energy Source” show, you’ll see a magic metal ball. The louder you shout, the more the ball will swing!

The Belgium(比利时) Pavilion

Almost everything in the pavilion will move. The walls are moving. Moving pictures show different parts of Belgium. There is also a Chinese shadow(皮影戏) center. A small chocolate factory at the pavilion will make free chocolate for visitors.

The Russian Pavilion

Here you’ll find a spaceship. The roof is a window of the spaceship. We can see the dream space cities of the future. We can also find new inventions(发明) made by Russian youth in every corner.
