Louis was a little child. He always stayed at home watching TV.

One day, he went hiking with his classmates in a forest. He got ________ and saw a dwarf (侏儒). The dwarf didn’t notice a huge stone was rolling towards him. Louis saved the dwarf. When I talked to him, I found his clothes were tidy, his hair was brushed clearly and his finger nails (指甲) were clean. I think these are more important than a letter and a recommendation.”

Traveling can be expensive. But there are some ways to save money when traveling. Try some of the advice below on your next vacation and your wallet will thank you.

Look for city tourism cards. With the card, you can pay less at restaurants and shops. You don’t have to wait for a long time at busy attractions(景点). You might even get free tickets to top tourist attractions. Without question, city tourism cards can save your money and time.

Don’t get the best room. How long will you stay in your room? Will you just be sleeping there? Do you really need a bigger room with a good view?

Find a hotel outside a city. It can help you save some money by choosing a hotel away from big tourist attractions, for you are always doing the same—go to the attractions and then return to your hotel to sleep.

Book a room with a kitchen. Although some people might not like to cook while on vacation, I like making breakfast in my room. We always eat at a nice restaurant on our last night of the vacation. I prefer(更喜欢) to eat breakfast and lunch at the hotel and then spend much money on a delicious supper.

“Reading makes a full man” (Bacon, 1597). Novels written by the writers like Jane Austen, Victor Hugo and Ernest Hemingway help us to know more about our history, culture and many other things.

Jane Austen (简·奥斯汀) was one of the most well-known women writers of the world. She was born in England in 1775. Jane loved reading and writing. She wrote a number of famous novels in her life. Among them, Pride and Prejudice written in 1779 was the most popular.

Victor Hugo (维克多·雨果), born in 1802 in France, was one of the best writers in the 19th century. The talent in writing and hard work brought great success to Hugo at an early age. His most popular novel, the Hunchback of Notre-Dame, was written in 1831. The book was so successful that it was quickly translated into many other languages across Europe.

Ernest Hemingway (欧内斯特·海明威), an outstanding American writer and reporter, was born in 1899. His life experience had a great influence on his writing style. Hemingway lived in France and Italy between the 1920s and 1950s. Most of his books such as The Sun Also Rises were written at that time. He won the Nobel Prize in 1954 mainly because of the novel The Old Man and the Sea.

We have to put down the burden sometimes, so that we can cheer up and are able to carry on. So, before you return home from work tonight, put the burden of work down. Don’t carry it back home. You can pick it up tomorrow.
