The Early Bird Catches the Worm (Maybe)

Bud is a bird. He gets up early to catch a worm. Bud wants something to cat. Sam is a worm. He moves around in the dirt. Sam sees Bud flying in the sky. Bud is looking for food.

“I must hide (躲起来),” says Sam. Sam moves to the grass. He still (仍然) sees Bud flying in the sky. “I am not safe here. I must hide in other places.”

Sam moves near a tree. He hides in the shade. Bud flies around the tree. “The shade does not hide me!”

Sam moves to the garden. He still sees Bud flying in the sky. “I must find some safe place to hide,” Sam says.

Sam looks around and disappears (消失) when Bud flies down suddenly. Bud finds some bird seeds on the ground and eats them.

Bud does not see Sam. Bud flies away and then Sam pokes his head out of an apple that fell from the tree!

Sam smiles (微笑) and says, “Great! That is close!”

There are some ways to find an apartment. One way is to look online (在线). There are a lot of information (信息) online to help you find an apartment. There are often pictures of the building and the apartment for rent. There is sometimes a map to show you the place of the building.

Another way to find an apartment is to look in the newspaper. There is an “Apartments for Rent” section in the back of some newspapers. There are ads — for apartments and houses for rent. Many newspapers also put this information online.

You can also find an apartment by looking at buildings in the neighborhood. There are often “For Rent” signs on the front of the buildings. There is usually a telephone number on the sign. You can call and ask the landlord (房东) for information. You can ask: How much is the rent? How many bedrooms are there in the apartment?

If an apartment interests you, you can make an appointment (预约) to see it. When you go to see the apartment, you can ask for more information. The landlard sometimes asks you a few questions about yourself or your family, too. Look at the apartment carefully before you sign the lease (租约). If there are some problems, ask the landlord to fix them before you move in.
