Do you know that man? His name is David Smith. He is forty-eight this year. He is a worker. He works in a car factory. His factory is not near his home. So he gets up early in the morning and takes a bus to work. At about seven thirty, he gets to his factory. He makes (生产) the parts (零件) of the car. He makes many parts every day. He works very hard. Everyone likes him and says he is a good worker. He has his lunch in the factory. He often plays basketball after work. In the evening, he learns Chinese at home. His Chinese is good, too. Sometimes he helps me with my Chinese. I like my uncle very much.

People are busy working every day, so they do not have enough time to do exercise. As a result (结果), many people become too fat. To keep our bodies healthy, we have to do exercise every day.

There are many kinds of exercise. Bending (弯腰) and stretching (伸展) help us move easily. Before we play ball games or swim, it is better for us to do bending and stretching first. This kind of exercise is sometimes called “warm-up exercise”. Running is also good exercise. If we cannot run fast, we can jog. Jogging means running slowly. Before we run or jog, we must do warm-up exercises. And we should not run or jog in busy streets. The air there is often dirty. Some people like weight lifting (举重) because it can make their bodies strong. We also need to do some warm-up exercises before weight lifting.

Big Ben is not the name of a man. It is the name of a huge clock in London. This clock has four faces, so no matter（无论）where you stand, you can read the time on the face of Big Ben. Each face is the size of a double-decker（双层的）bus. The hands are about four meters long.

If you go to London, you may want to visit the House of Parliament（国会大厦）. You will find Big Ben sitting at the top of the clock tower（塔）in the House of Parliament. You will hear it as well as see it. The big clock makes such a loud sound. “Ding dong, ding dong” as it goes every quarter of an hour.

The clock was named after a big man. He was Sir Benjamin Hill. He did much building work in London many years ago.

Many people like going shopping at weekends after five days’ hard work. Supermarkets are good places for shopping.
