Yu Ruofei, 32, still remembers that, not long after he helped to set up the Lanzhou Blue Sky Rescue in 2013, the team received its first task—to save a drowning child in Lintao county, about 80 kilometers from Lanzhou city, Gansu province. Unluckily, by the time he arrived, the child had already been dead.

That experience left a deep impression on the young man, and he made his mind to follow his chosen path of working as a rescuer. Over the course of nearly ten years, he has organized the first professional rescue team in Gansu, embarked on more than 390 rescue tasks to the sites of natural disasters, from earthquakes to floods, saved 79 people and found 366 dead bodies.

Yu’s story started in 2012 following a flood in his hometown. Feeling anxious about the situation, Yu, who was a university student, asked for leave from school and returned home to work as a volunteer in the rescue team. Then during the rescue in an earthquake in Ya’an city, Sichuan province in 2013, he learned that it was necessary to teach people the rescue knowledge. So he set up a professional rescue team with two other people in Lanzhou. By 2015, the team developed into Gansu BSR.

After his graduation, he didn’t choose to go to more developed cities for better chances of work, but instead stayed in Lanzhou as a rescuer. When asked if he has ever felt afraid in the course of his work, Yu says, “It would be a lie if I say that I have not, especially when I had just started the job, but I believe nothing is as important as saving lives.” He also encourages more people to join in the process of rescuing and helping others.

Located at the foot of Datang Mountain in Changping District of Beijing, the China Aviation Museum is Asia’s largest museum displaying aircraft relics. The collection has about 200 aircraft of over 100 types and more than 700 examples of weapons and equipment. The Cavern Exhibition Hall is in the south of the mark. In this hall, you can get a good knowledge of the world’s great aviation treasures from ancient to modern aircraft and equipment. These exhibits are placed on two sides in time sequence. The right side not only exhibits aircraft which are famous in Chinese aviation history, the left side is a series of modern aircraft produced by China.

As you walk to the north from the mark, you cannot miss the Open-air Exhibition Area. The Hero Avenue runs through it and divides the area into two parts. There is an artificial lake on the left of the Hero Avenue. On the southern side of the lake planes which were used specially for great people are displayed. The right side of the Hero Avenue exhibits fighter planes, radar and helicopters.

All the way down to the Hero Avenue lies the Integrated Hall. In this hall it displays 28 real aircraft, over 550 models of various aircraft, missiles, antiaircraft artillery, radar etc, more than 200 pieces of small cultural relics, 20 audio and video demo tablets, 12 sand table scenes and 1850 pictures and photos. On the west side of the Integrated Hall lays a CS field camp, where you can have an unforgettable experience.

Bryan had given his team a 2-1 lead, and only a few minutes remained in the game. Bryan was used to having his sister cheering him on when he scored a goal. But they were playing against each other. Jordan nodded. “She’ll get over it,” he said, referring to Tara. “You win some, you lose some. We all know that.”

Tara looked angry. “You were pretty good,” she said coldly, slowly shaking her head. “Where did you learn that?”

“Are you kidding?” Bryan stopped walking. “I’ve been chasing* you around ever since I learned to walk. All of the things I’ve learned came from you.”

Tara forced* a smile. “You stopped all my moves in the last couple of minutes.”

“I may have learned how to stop them,” Bryan said, “but I’m not very good at making those moves myself.”

Tara clapped her brother on the shoulder. Her smile grew bigger. “We’ll work on that this week,” she said. “Get you ready for the playoffs.”
