Last summer, my family and I went to England and we spent two weeks in Cornwall. It took us five hours to get there by car. We ______ in a hotel near a lake. We did a lot of different things there ______: we went for long walks, played games, went shopping and swam in the lake.

Walking is a good exercise. You may take a long walk in the park. It’s more fun if you don’t go alone. Go with a friend. The two of you may have a great time.

Some people like to swim. But others don’t like to go into the water. If you like this kind of exercise, make sure that someone is watching you. You must always take care when you are in the water. Jumping a rope (跳绳) or riding a bike is also good exercise. There are many other exercises. Find out what you like. You may need help at first. Some people often do exercise, and they can help you. Do exercise every day, and you will know what it makes you feel.

Britain’s Got Talent is a popular British TV show looking for the most talented people in the country. This year, a music group named “Sign Along With Us” got the show’s first Golden Buzzer for their excellent performance. They got much closer to win a bigger prize.

The group is made up of 18-year-old Jade Kilduff, her 4-year-old little brother Christian Kilduff, and some others. Aged from 4 to 58, there are 37 children and 28 adults in the group. They sang a beautiful song named This is Me and used sign language (手语).

They chose to give their performance in this way to help young Christian face his illness. Christian has great difficulty talking with others. His family took him to many hospitals, but they were told that he could never talk. Jade didn’t believe that and she taught her little brother sign language. “I just know there was a voice inside there waiting to come out.” she told the judges (评委) on the show.

Their performance touched everyone’s heart. There was not a dry eye in the house. “Every one of you gave a wonderful performance. It was really great.” said one of the judges.

Should friends be the same or different? Different people have different opinions. Three students are talking about their best friends.

When earthquakes happen, you can get under a desk quickly and hold on. It’ll protect you from falling things. If you are outdoors, find a place away from buildings, trees, and power lines.

When there’s a fire, leave the classroom quickly. It’s better to put something wet over your mouth and nose. In this way, you won’t breathe in smoke. Many people die in a fire, not because of the fire but smoke. It makes them cough (咳嗽) and they can’t breathe (呼吸). That’s very dangerous! So when you want to get out, you should make yourself close to the floor. Then you can breathe some fresh air.
