I’m Carl. Today is my birthday. My parents, my brother and my best friend Ben celebrate (庆祝) it for me. ______ say “Happy birthday!” to me and give me presents (礼物). I have a good ______ today.

Mrs. Taylor works in a library. She often gets home at about 7:00 p. m. Today is Friday. When she gets home, she finds her son, Bill’s things everywhere. His books are on the sofa. His pens are under the table. His notebooks are on the chair. Mrs. Taylor is angry（生气的）. She asks, “Bill, why are your things here and there?” But Bill doesn’t answer.

Then Mrs. Taylor goes to Bill’s room. Bill isn’t there. His dog Coco is on the bed. She is surprised to find a card in its mouth（嘴巴）. It says, “Mom, I finish my homework. I go to my friend Jack’s home to make hamburgers. I’ll be back with your favorite chicken hamburgers before 8:00 p. m.”

After reading the card, Mrs. Taylor isn’t angry. There is a smile（微笑）on her face.

Be Healthy

How can we be healthy?     25    

Play sports every day. There are all kinds of sports for you. Ball games are interesting.     26     Some of them are not difficult to play. You can play one or two with your friends or classmates after class or school. It’s good for you to play sports, so do it every day.

Eat healthy food every day. What do you eat for breakfast, lunch or dinner? Only ice-cream or hamburgers? Be careful about what you eat every day. Some food is delicious (美味的) but not healthy.     27     It’s good for you to eat salad, carrots and apples, too. Meat is from animals.     28     It’s not good for you. To be healthy isn’t so difficult. Do the things above, and then you can be healthy.

New Year’s Day is coming! My family wants to go back to Gaoqing next week. That’s     34     hometown (老家).
