Many students have clear ideas about what jobs they would like to have when they grow up. We think boys and girls choose jobs differently. To find out how differently they choose their jobs, we did a survey in New Hope Middle School. The following shows the result of the survey.

Emma was a little unhappy. After all, it was her birthday too, but no one in her class even said happy birthday to her. They were all busy planning the surprise party for their teacher Mr. Smith.

Mr. Smith was great. He knew everyone’s birthday and made cards for them. He always tried his best to help all the students with their studies. Emma knew Mr. Smith should get a surprise party. But she just wished someone could remember it was her birthday too!

Emma had a quick look at the large card that the class made. It was as long as the blackboard. The class made a card just like Mr. Smith did for them.

“Emma, will you turn off the lights, please?” Sally said. “I’ll call Mr. Smith now.” As soon as Sally finished the call, Emma looked around the classroom slowly with a sigh (叹气).

The door opened and everyone shouted, “Surprise!” “ A surprise party for me?” Mr.Smith asked. He walked over to the large card and said, “This is the most beautiful card in the world.”

Then he turned to Emma and gave her a card. “Happy birthday, Emma. I’m excited that we share the same party.”

“Me, too,” Emma said, smiling at Mr. Smith. “Happy birthday, Emma!” her classmates cheered.

I think cook is interesting. If you want to keep healthy, food is very important. You     24     (be) better if you try all kinds of food, especially vegetables and fruit. I eat them every day.

How to make a milk shake? There are different kinds of milk shakes, such as apple milk shakes, banana milk shakes,     25     watermelon milk shakes. These days, I have problems with my study. In school I can’t listen to teachers carefully because I always feel tired and sleepy. I don’t spend time with friends after class either, because I think it’s a waste (浪费) of time. I even miss writing some answers in the test.

At home, I can’t get my homework done every night. My parents don’t let me stay up. So I have to get up early the next morning to finish it. Lately, I even get a bad headache.

How can I solve these problems?

When you have problems listening to teachers carefully in class, you can ask your teachers or deskmate to remind (提醒) you often. Then spending time talking about many different things with friends can make you happy. It’s not a waste of time.

As for homework, when it’s hard to get it finished, one thing you can try is to set goals (目标) for yourself. Ask your parents to help you. You must take a break if you don’t feel well. You might be surprised but a short rest can help you a lot! Lastly, if you don’t worry and have enough sleep, your headache will leave you.
