Anna wants to become a top guitarist in the future. She began to play the guitar two years ago when she saw her father play it at home. “I love the guitar, so I always play it at home. Then she began to take guitar lessons in Band School every Saturday to learn more from musicians there.

Most people may say milk. Yes. Doctors always say it’s a good habit to drink milk every day. It has lots of nutrients (营养物质) to help build up children. Calcium (钙) in milk gives us strong teeth. Vitamins (维生素) in it are necessary nutrients for our body. There are many micro elements (微量元素) in milk, too. They can make children smarter. Also, studies show drinking milk often can even make women look more beautiful.

Milk is great! But you may not believe milk may cause many health problems. For example, drinking lots of milk may make children fat. For those very fat children, stop drinking milk can help a lot. Also, scientists find that some people who drink milk often don’t have very strong bones. Instead. some without drinking milk have strong bones. So should we still drink milk?

As we all know, all living things will die without oxygen (氧气). Oxygen comes from all kinds of plants. Rainforests play the most important part in making oxygen, and they also help us in many other ways.

Rainforests take in the heat (热量) from the sun and this makes the earth cooler. Because the more heat reflects (反射) into the sky, the warmer the other parts of the world will be. That’s the reason why rainforests can control the climate.

Rainforests provide us with a lot of wood. We use wood to make paper and furniture, such as beds, chairs and tables. Also we use wood for building houses to protect us from the sun, the wind and the rain. In most parts of the world, people cook food and keep warm by burning wood.

Rainforests are the world’s drug (药物) store. More than 25% of the medicine we use today come from plants in rainforests. However, fewer than 1% of rainforest plants have been checked for their medical value (药用价值). We believe that our best chance to beat diseases is somewhere in the world’s rainforests. But it’s a pity they are becoming smaller and smaller day by day. I think we should try our best to protect it.

In China, safety education (安全教育) is becoming more and more important now. The last Monday in March is for students to learn it at school. It helps students learn more about what they should do to keep themselves safe.     16     They’re stampedes (踩踏), earthquakes and fires.
