Village libraries may help to change children’s lives.

When Zhang Dongdong, from Beijing, arrived at Sanbao Street in Guizhou in August, 2019, he found that most of the children lived with their ________. Their parents moved to large cities ________. It’s Sunday. There are many people in the bus. An old man is looking here and there. He wants to find an empty seat (空座位) to seat on. Then he finds one. He goes to it. A small bag is on the seat. And a young man is sitting beside it.

“Is this seat empty?” asks the old man.

“No, it’s for a lady. She goes to buy some oranges.” says the young man.

“Well,” says the old man, “Let me sit here please. When she comes back, I will leave here.”

The bus starts. “She doesn’t come, but her bag is here. Let me give her the bag,” says the old man. Then he throws the bag out of the bus window.

The young man jumps up and shouts, “Don’t throw! It’s my bag!”

Everyone knows that exercise is important. We all need to exercise. Doctors say it is good for us. It makes your heart and body strong. Children who often exercise are more alert. This means they do better in tests and schoolwork than those who don’t exercise.

There are many ways to exercise. You can walk, run, swim, skate, or play ball games. Make sure you exercise in the following ways: you have to like what you’re doing. Exercise enough but not too much. It’s best to exercise twice each week. Thirty minutes each time is enough. Try all kinds of things until you find one, two or even three sports that feel right for you.

You can exercise at fitness centers (健身中心). They have a lot of equipment (设备) there. The equipment will help to exercise your arms, legs and other parts of your body to make you fit. Some people buy equipment for their homes. But it is very expensive.

Exercising can be fun. Friends can exercise together at a fitness center, or they can play sports together. How do you exercise?
