Once upon a time, in a small town, there lived a young girl named Emma. Emma was an outgoing girl who always saw the bright side of things. She had a good friend named Sarah, who often had a negative attitude (消极的态度) to life.

One day, Emma and Sarah decided to take a trip to the forest near by. As they walked along the road, they came across a fork. One way was steep (陡峭的), while the other way was good and easy to walk on. Emma quickly chose the steep way because she was sure that it would take them to an exciting trip.

As they climbed higher and higher, Sarah began to say how difficult and tiring trip was. Emma, on the other hand, was still active and told Sarah to keep going. Finally, they got to the top of the mountain and saw an amazing picture of the whole town.

Emma turned to Sarah and said, “Life is full of hard choices. Sometimes, we may meet many different roads in life. No matter which way we choose, we can also enjoy wonderful places. It all depends on (取决于) how we look at the trip.”

Sarah understood what Emma meant. She knew clearly that even if the road they chose was difficult, it took them to a great result. From that moment on, Sarah decide to try to find beauty in her life in every moment.

It was getting dark. The two good friends went down the mountain and was happy to come back home.
