Yellow will be another popular color. Why will it be popular? People are very busy these days because they have a lot to do. Yellow is a soft color and it can make people feel relaxed.

Most people think black will be the most popular color. It always looks cool, and men often show off their social positions (社会地位) by using this color.

I went to England last year. I enjoyed my stay, and I noticed something interesting with the English way of life.

For example, you must say Mr or Mrs when you meet someone for the first time. When you get to know each other better or when they ask you to, you can just use their first names.

One day, we visited some friends and had afternoon tea together. Afternoon tea is not just a drink but a light meal at around 4 : 00 pm. We ate sandwiches and a large fruit cake. In England, you usually drink tea with milk. So I tried to drink tea with milk, too.

Winter is here. In many Chinese cities, the weather is freezing cold. Have you put on your winter coats, gloves and qiuku?

Qiuku is a kind of long underwear—it is also called “thermal underwear” (保暖内衣). It keeps people warm in the coldest months of the year. Because of its pronunciation (发音) in Chinese, English—speaking people call it “chill cool”.

In fact, in western countries people also wear long underwear, like qiuku. They call them “long johns”. Some people think they are named after John Sullivan, a famous British boxer (拳击手). He wore clothing that looked like long underwear while boxing.

But long johns are not very popular among young people in these countries, they think they are not cool. They may think they will be fine without them, since they won’t be outside for very long.

However, doctors may advise you to forget your pride and wear qiuku in winter, or you may get arthritis (关节炎) easily.

My interest in cooking started when I was 11, partly thanks to my mother. She didn’t really like cooking and when she did cook, I didn’t like her food. Once I was watching something about cooking on TV and I thought I could do this, so I went to the bookstore and looked for the biggest cookbook I could find.

During a year, I cooked most of its recipes (食谱) and was ready for a bigger challenge (挑战). I wanted to make my own dishes and I started cooking for more people than just my family. My parents allowed (允许) me to build a test kitchen. I did much cooking to test my dishes in it and my skill (技艺) improved quickly. Later, my mom and I set up a dinner club that organized monthly events inside my home. Now as a teen chef (主厨), I have also cooked in top-class restaurants around the country. I am not doing it for money, but because I love cooking.

Now I know that when you stop caring whether you’ll be famous or do well, your dream will come to you.
