文章大意:本文是一篇记叙文,讲述了《爱丽丝梦游仙境》这本书的诞生过程以及其在全世界范围的影响。

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland is one of the most popular children’s books of all time, and many adults enjoy it as well. It tells the story of a young girl named Alice, who follows a rabbit entering a magical world called Wonderland. She has many experiences which seem to change the rules of reasoning or common sense. The popularity of the book comes from its imagination, and artwork.

The writer of the book is Lewis Carroll. In fact, Lewis Carroll was not the writer’s real name. His real name was Charles Dodgson. One day, he took a boat ride down the Thames River to have a picnic with three little girls who were friends of the family. To keep them happy on the ride, the middle child, was the main character. They enjoyed the story very much.

Charles later wrote the story down under the name “Alice’s Adventures under Ground” and gave it to Alice as a Christmas present. Later, he gave a copy to his friend George MacDonald. George read it to his children and they loved it. George suggested to Charles that he make a book from his story. Charles then wrote more parts to the story until it was around 35,000 words. It was first printed in 1866, under the name “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland”. The book was an immediate success.

One of its first fans was Queen Victoria. She immediately bought all of Lewis Carroll’s works. She was surprised to find that they included many works on maths. In fact, Charles Dodgson was a highly respected mathematician. This can be seen in many puzzles and plays on reasoning that appear in his books and poems.

Since the story was first printed, it has kept selling up to the present day. It has been translated into over fifty languages and has had several movies based on it. The story is even mentioned in the popular film The Matrix in 1999.

26. The passage is mainly about ________.
A.Charles’ family life
B.a girl’s unforgettable experience
C.the birth of a book and its influence
D.a magical world which is called Wonderland
27. We can learn from the passage that ________.
A.Charles was good at reasoning and writing
B.Queen Victoria asked for a few of Charles’ writings
C.Charles had his works translated into fifty languages

28. The underlined word “This” paragraph 4 refers to ________.
A.the fact that Charles was a mathematician
B.the rule of reasoning or common sense

文章大意:本文主要介绍了人工智能在生活中的用处以及人们的担心,建议为人工智能带来的变化做好准备。

①AI (artificial intelligence 人工智能) and machine learning refer to the ability of machines to learn and act intelligently. It means they can make decisions, finish tasks, and even tell the possible future results based on what they learn from data (数据).

②AI and machine learning already play a bigger role in everyday life than you might imagine. Health care, banking, video games, every search on the Internet you make..., all are driven by AI.

③AI is going to change almost every field of modern life. Stephen Hawking said, “Success in creating AI would be the biggest event in human history.” And Hawking added at once, “Unluckily, it might also be the last, unless we learn how to avoid the risks.”

especially when you consider some countries are racing to develop AI-enabled autonomous weapons (人工智能自主武器). It is also going to change and take the place of many human jobs. The same worries also come from the public. According to the survey result from Centre for the Governance of AI, 91% of the people (tend to and totally) agree that “AI is a technology that requires careful management” in Europe.

⑤But rather than agreeing with an idea of a helpless future where all human jobs are given over to robots, some people believe AI will make on working lives better. It will improve the work of humans, and new jobs will appear to take the place of the old ones.

⑥What’s more, machines become more intelligent and they are able to finish more human tasks. Things which only belong to humans lie creativity and critical (批判性的) thinking, will become even more valuable in the future.

⑦Like it or not, AI is here. Maybe changing ourselves and managing it well are the best way out. Just as Benjamin Franklin once said, “When you’re finished changing, you’re finished.”

34. What do we know from Paragraph 3? ________
A.The creator of AI.
B.Ways to create better AI.
C.Hawkings worries about AI.
D.Changes to our lives by AI.
35. Which of the following can be put in the “▲”? ________
A.Also, you can find AI serving our daily lives in every possible field
B.Humans are surely more creative and better at many things than AI
C.Without doubt, AI is a fantastic technology to lead us into the future
D.As we know, there are possible huge risks for society and human life
36. What’s the purpose of writing the passage? ________
A.To warn us that AI will take humans’ place.
B.To show us that there are a lot of uses of AI.
C.To tell us that many people are worried about AI.
D.To suggest we prepare for the changes brought by AI.
37. Which of the following shows the structure of this passage? ________
Paragraph 1=①.
A.①②/③④/⑤⑥⑦
B.①/②/③④/⑤⑥/⑦
C.①/②③/④⑤/⑥/⑦
D.①②/③④⑤/⑥⑦

Before our team's last basketball match, I was interested in how the best players shoot (投篮). I watched lots of videos about it, I felt so nervous that I couldn’t sleep. In the match, I was too tired to play well. I’d thought that training hard was the only way to succeed at basketball.

Harry

Last month I took an exam. I finished it quickly. Then I looked around and I was really confused (困惑的) because the other students were still working. When there was only a minute left, I turned over the paper. There were two questions that I hadn’t seen! My mark was terrible. I learnt that I need to read the instructions very carefully.

Alison

Last week, I wrote an article for my English course and I got a great mark. I showed my parents and my sister Monica the article and they were happy because my level had gone up a lot. I got a good mark because I had tried a new way of studying that didn’t make me bored. I’d thought that I could never get good marks on my articles, but I learnt that when I study hard, I can do really well!
