文章大意:本文是现在的Linda写给未来Linda的一封信。
Dear future Linda (or rather myself),

I hope when you read this letter you don’t find my writing too messy! At the moment, I’m 15 years old and living at home with my family. I love school and have lots of good friends. We do lots of fun things together like parties, ice skating and swimming. My biggest worry is not doing well in my school exams, but I’m working really hard so hopefully I have nothing to worry about.

There’s so much I (you!) want to do. I hope you’ve travelled all over the world and seen lots of things and met lots of people. I hope you’ve visited the Great Wall in China and the pyramids in Egypt, shopped in New York City and in Paris, seen polar bears in Norway and the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. I’ve just remembered, you always wanted to see elephants in India—I hope you’ve managed to do that too.

I promise myself I’ll always try my best and have no regrets. I never want to forget where every step of my life has taken me. Already it seems as if so much has happened. I’ve moved from primary to junior middle school (about to graduate), been taught to swim and dance (I love ballet dancing), learned to speak Chinese and French, and raised money for those in need by selling old toys and books.

I really hope you’re happy. I hope you have a successful career that you enjoy doing and look forward to each morning when you wake up. I hope you’re surrounded by good friends and family and maybe also have a family of your own. More than anything else, I hope you’ve enjoyed every single moment so far!

文章大意:本文主要介绍了“雷锋精神”和一些代表人物。

It is more than sixty years since the death of Lei Feng, and yet his spirit of selflessness is still alive, inspiring Chinese young people. In fact, the wish to help others can always be found among common people.

On September 5, 2022, when an earthquake hit Luding, Sichuan, 28-year-old hydropower station (水电站) worker Gan Yu chose not to leave but stay at his workplace, saving villages downstream from being flooded. People think he is a hero like Lei Feng, but he doesn’t feel that he should be compared to the young hero. “Lei Feng is a role model to all Chinese young people. The things he did may seem small, but behind them was a nobility (高贵的品质) that we can all achieve,” he said.

Zeng Qiangfei, 24, is also from Sichuan. In 2013, when an earthquake happened in his hometown, he was studying in a middle school. Zeng remembered seeing rescuers (救援者) and volunteers gather there to help. When he grew up, he became a volunteer himself. After a terrible quake hit Turkey and Syria this year, he flew there to help. During the rescue, he always saw local people bowing quietly to rescuers like them. “I grew up listening to Lei Feng’s stories. He is an excellent young man who spared no effort to help others,” said Zeng.

This view is shared by a 56-year-old British man named James Elroy Edginton, who lives in Hunan, the hometown of Lei Feng. Working at a local college, Edginton volunteers to help students from poor families, and is warmly regarded as a “foreign Lei Feng”. “I am honored to be connected with the spirit of Lei Feng His qualities are timeless and borderless (无边界),” he said.

23. Which of the following words can best describe Gan Yu?
A.Responsible.B.Smart.C.Patient.D.Careful.
24. Why did Zeng Qiangfei become a volunteer when he grew up?
A.Because he wanted local people to thank him.
B.Because he was quite moved by Gan Yu’s story.
C.Because he learned about volunteering at school.
D.Because he was influenced greatly by volunteers.
25. Which one of the statements below is a fact according to the passage?
A.Gan Yu is a hero like Lei Feng.B.Zeng Qiangfei is warm-hearted.
C.Lei Feng’s hometown is in Hunan.D.Edginton is a “foreign Lei Feng”
26. What’s the best title for the passage?
A.The ways of helping othersB.The spirit of Lei Feng never dies
C.The stories of young heroesD.Chinese volunteers are everywhere

文章大意:本文是一篇说明文。文章介绍了电子游戏的优点和缺点,并给父母提出几个建议。

Are video games harmful to our children? Today, many children spend a lot of their free time playing games on the Internet. This information tells us that the advantages and dangers of video games must be carefully considered.

For many people, video games are fun. They have bright lights, funny cartoons and exciting stories. Everywhere you look, you can see children playing these games. They play on buses and trains, in restaurants and even at school.

Video games are educational too. They make kids think in a creative way and they have to move their hands and eyes quickly. This can improve the way that a child’s brain works. What’s more, video games make children use their imagination. The player has to do many creative things, like drawing, telling stories and building things.

However, a recent study shows that video games can also be bad for children. Firstly, children can download (下载) many games for free. This means that parents often don’t know if their children are playing violent (暴力的) or scary games. Secondly, many children spend too much time playing games on computers and this can lead to health problems. Thirdly, if children spend too much time playing games instead of doing homework, they can have problems at school and get bad grades. Finally, video games can affect children’s social skills. If children spend too much time playing video games by themselves, they might not learn how to play with their friends.

All in all, it seems clear that video games have some advantages and some disadvantages. It is up to parents to know what games their children are playing and how much time they spend on them. Parents should also make sure their children get enough exercise and spend time with other children.

27. The underlined word “they” in Paragraph 3 refers to ________.
A.kidsB.computersC.video gamesD.playmates
28. Which disadvantages of video games are mentioned in the passage?
a. lead to bad grades                            b. make kids feel bored
c. lead to health problems             d. influence children’s social skills
A.a, b, cB.b, c, dC.a, c, dD.a, b, d
29. In the writer’s opinion, ________ should play an important role in video games play for kids.

阅读下列短文,根据短文内容及要求,简要回答下列问题 (每空词数不限) 。

Dad is a quiet person. He never says he loves me.

When I was in high school, Dad lost his job. With nothing to do at home, Dad set up a food stand (货摊) in the street. He was very good at making fried noodles, so a lot of people liked his noodles. The food stand was near my school. Every day when I finished school, my classmates and I would pass by Dad’s food stand. But I really hated talking to Dad at that moment. I didn’t want my classmates to know that my dad was selling noodles in the street!

One night at home, I couldn’t stand it anymore and shouted, “Dad, could you stop selling your stupid noodles? I don’t want a father who sells noodles in the street!” At that moment, Dad was shocked. He tried to say something but he didn’t. His eyes were filled with tears and sadness. It was the first time that I had seen Dad crying.

My mom later told me that Dad was selling noodles to save money for my college education. I was such a fool. Even today I still regret shouting at Dad. Although Dad is still quiet now, I can feel a connection between us. And it becomes something special — “a silent father’s love”.
